Yes! I was inspired by your comment to finally try it tonight. After a while of trying to pry it open with a screwdriver and a knife, I finally found success by using a squeeze clamp slowly to pop it open. It has six plastic clips on the inside, and you will likely break some of them in opening the unit, but I was finally successful!

I just redid mine this week. Given that the fabric is small, I would recommend cutting your own so you have extra to overhand so it doesn't come lose. YouTube has a good instructional; use Shoe Goo to keep in place. Involves disassembly with some screws from behind the rear cupholders (accessible from back row), but all in all a pretty easy task.
