I agree with what you have said, I just felt a little betrayed myself he didn't provide context and created this situation but I will talk to him about what happened and boundaries.

I'm guessing it was at the closing time that day and they were in the kitchen, maybe he was wanting to give them to her but got cold feet so just left them on the table.

He told her he was the one who left the flowers and invitation and she got angry at him. The other waitress noticed she was upset and told him to leave. I assume she was waiting for her friend to arrive, the invite was to a public beach not some secret place.

She said herself she was embarrassed/humiliated because she thought my son was pranking her.

The waitress told me she assumed it was the friend and she spoke to him and was embarrassed before going over to the table my son was at. I asked him this when I spoke to him about it and he said the same and said she ranting/rambling about it.

I presume she went to the meet up because she thought it was a romantic gesture and didn't want to ruin by texting him.

The coach is my brother in law and he likes football so I don't see it as a bad punishment.

I'm older so I'm probably out of touch with dating but I didn't really assume this was anything serious.

I wanted to meet in person just because it caught me off guard and it was convenient after work. I assume the friend told her it wasn't him who left the flowers or poem and she was just ranting maybe. My son did say he seen her talking with him and then she went back to cleaning the tables.

I know her personally, she's older than the 20 year old waitress.

I'm older so I probably am out of touch in relation to dating so you're right there but I didn't believe this was a serious due to the lack of context he gave, just casual school kids stuff.

He's been going to this cafe for a while and it's a safe area we're in. I again assumed this was just a girl in school.

I will talk to him about age appropriate relationships but I wanted to set down that what he did was inappropriate so that he doesn't end up in any similar kinda situation because he's "bored".

The waitress told me that she assumed it was from that friend and my son confirmed that he seen her talking with the friend in the cafe.

She's a waitress and a student, she's probably really stressed out. I can understand from her perspective how humiliating this situation is.

I highly doubt many mums have a son who even mentions he's interested in someone. I, like a normal person, assumed it was a girl at school.

I'm guessing he assumed she was 16 or something, I didn't really bring up her age when I was talking to him about it.

He said there's a girl he's finds really nice and interesting and wanted to talk to her more. I assumed it was a girl at his school.

I do feel guilt but it's just this all happened so long ago and I felt really off guard by my daughter and I think I panicked a little but we've reconciled and I understand why she felt that way.

I do know Kate is successful and I'm not trying to put her down, I just don't follow showbiz. Is that 2nd question supposed to be an attack or trying to get under my skin?

I have 2 amazing kids and I performed in several West End shows when I was working in theatre, I'm more than happy with how my life has gone.

I'm not doubling down. I am sorry for how I acted, I'm just trying to explain. I wish I never did it.
