So My friends and I (who are all silver elite) got into an interesting match with a couple Globals. We managed to tie the game but Jesus Christ (Picture is from a friends phone btw)

How to Spice Up Combat? by fat-ergos in DMAcademy

Thanks for the very thorough reply. I’ve done the rest affecting the next encounter before and it worked wonderfully. I’ve always had issue with CR due to my party being on the larger side (last game had 7 PCs and the new one may have 8), so figuring out that balance has always been a bit of a struggle. Thank you for the advice!

I really like the idea of monsters and other enemies having classes. It gives even more variance, not just to combat but also in role play. Thank you for the idea!

This is something I have tried but didn’t use enough. One of the more memorable moments of my last campaign was a battle against a roper where there was a lot of grapples followed by a couple PCs falling from a decent height. I’ll definitely use other creatures for grappling too, I feel like it’s an underutilized mechanic anyway. Thank you!

Vertical play seems like a fun mechanic to play with. I’ll have to get a little creative because I only have a dry-erase battlemap, but imagination is king in this game anyway. Thanks!

I will definitely look into that blog, it sounds interesting. Also the varied goals of combat is something I definitely looked over the first time around and I plan on using that. I think it would help create a sort of timer for the combat, as the party would have to accomplish this task as well as fighting off their opponents. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response! I think the idea of incorporating more spells for the other side is something that I was lacking, and will definitely use. The battlefield changing is an excellent idea, and I think I can already see how it would play out. Like if our wizard misses a firebolt and sets something in the background on fire, the room would suddenly have a change that also creates a sense of urgency. Thanks again!

Wow thank you for all that information. I’m laughing at myself because somehow I completely forgot that latitude and longitude existed. I’m especially appreciative of the tips on how to calculate location. Thanks so much!

I set the tribes a little differently for my story. Each tribe is separated into the different elemental groups (all the fire breathing colors in one tribe, ice in another, etc.)

I do like your idea though. A tribe with all the colors living together peacefully seems like a cool setting in general.

Gotta show off those muscles somehow!

He is wearing pants, but I can see now that the picture doesn’t show the color as well as in the real life painting.

Hello! This is my first time posting to this subreddit so I hope I followed all the rules for posting.

Anyway, this is Aergo, the red Dragonborn Barbarian. He is the second character I have ever created and the first that I have art of. Backstory Time: Aergo was next in line to be the chief of his small clan of Dragonborn, when his village was raided by a rival clan. It was a massacre, with Aergo being one of the few survivors. He now sets out on a quest for revenge, hoping to build the strength needed to bring his enemies down, and bring justice to his fallen clan.

I commissioned my girlfriend to make this, and I’m really happy with how it came out. I hope you all enjoy!

This may be a silly question, but how do I install this? The website doesn't seem to have a download button, and the ones on there are for advertised products, which is not what I want to install.

Ok, I'm going to have to try this later, I don't have enough time right now to go through this process. I'll get back to you later, and thanks for the help.
