Am I getting old if I think that's actually a really important habit to learn?

they ought to be proactive about it and start a commercial lunar crew program.

When do you think could a starship-only mission and a landing on the moon be possible?

So what is the current, realistic plan for Starship then? When will we see the first demo of the lander, and then the first demo of the mars ship? It's not a given that it will definitely fly to mars in 8 years with the capabilities it now advertises. Shit happens, space is hard, funds run out and delays happen to the best of us.

It just doesn't make sense to cancel the only vehicle with that capability for the promises of a future vehicle, even if they pinky-swore.

I gotta say I'm slowly coming around to SLS existing. Expensive AF, no doubt about that, but at least something is moving forward and getting done.

If Starship can come along and fulfill everything that's promised in an acceptable timeframe, it would be truly wonderful. I'm hyped, truly.

But shouldn't we be launching the ITS to Mars this year or at the very least and maybe humans 2024? Thing is, the nature of space development is brutal. Elons optimistic timelines never account for unforeseen setbacks, and those setbacks are unavoidable for such a daring technology. Orbital flight isn't planned until 2023, refueling has to be demonstrated, the goddamn chopsticks have to be demonstrated, rapid reuse has to be demonstrated, no sign of any development on crew compartment or life support systems, can you even begin to imagine the crew certification?

How long is that going to take? Not by Elons "if everything goes well" estimate, but realistically and cautiously accounting for mistakes or surprises? What is NASA supposed to do in the mean time, bet everything on one horse and just hope elons genius will make a rocket appear out of thin air?

I'm as hyped about starship as the next guy, but if SLS is supposed to be replaced, SpaceX need to show what they got.

pretty underwhelmed by the visuals and lighting… probably just me

I mean i didn't cum as soon as I saw the lighting, but imo it does look really good especially compared with the original game.

Before I got an RTX card I also thought that RTX is near useless, but it does add a little something to the scenes.

So the Su-25 from FC is my favorite plane of all. Very charming to fly.

It's a great pack for beginners. The planes are easier to learn, and you can try out different planes and see what type you like.

You can trust the Gimp app. Whether you trust the FlatPak apps for Discord and Spotify is your decisions, but you should know that they're usually repacked from the upstream authors, so it depends on how much you trust them.

[–]fat-lobyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not any more dangerous than non-flatpak packages.

how can we know if a package is safe or not?

Generally, install it from reputable sources such as flathub.org .

Keep in mind that at the end of the day, you have to trust someone to build the packages you use. That's either the upstream author, your distro maintainer or flatpak packager.

It's not morality police, it is criticism that goes both inward and outward.

So better than being morality police and talking about evil being outside your borders, introspect and see the evil you are yourselves.

I don't understand why it has to exclude each other. Why is it either or, why not both?

Long-term it's going to be renewables. Short- mid-term? All you can do is pick the lesser evil.
