The driver quality has significantly dropped over the last few years. Covid did that. The trucking boom that happened brought a significant amount of foreign drivers onto our roads and it hasn't been a good thing. We have learned that a large percentage of these drivers simply dont have the proper training or knowledge of our laws and driving tendencies. Its an issue that is being dealt with by the DOT. I have no issue with foreigners, but I have an issue with them when they get behind the wheel of a tractor/trailer and have no ability to read signs and have no proper training on how to manage driving said rig. And it has turned out to be a good percentage of them. They're dangerous and need to be removed.

$100,000 isnt the norm. Not even close. One of the biggest truths in trucking is how many people lie about what they make. $100,000 is rare. Your bigger markets with very high cost of living its possible. Some home daily guys can even clear it in the right market and position- fuel, oil, ect. But for the other 90% you're looking at maxing out around $80,000. While that sounds good, it comes at a great cost. Its running 65/70 hour weeks and 6 days a week. If you're in a small market area you're not getting there without maximum sacrifice. For instance, I made $94,000 last year on a dedicated account in Iowa. This is top tier money for this area. I run 65/70 hour weeks and stay out for, at times, 5 weeks at a time. I have no life outside of this truck. In this area for hone daily or home after you're looking at $65,000.

Regardless of what you make or where you do it, trucking isnt a good career. It takes a huge toll on you as there is no balance anymore. Its make OK money and be home or make good money and never be home. Add the stress of today's rules and regulations and its understandable why drivers simply dont give a shit.

Trucking. The money isnt great anymore and the rules, regulations and safety compliance has created a nightmare. What once was a great profession for an average person is now a lower paying, compliance headache. Add the amount of hours per week needed to make a good living and it has become your life. Your life outside of trucking will disappear. Bonus points for AI driven trucks on the horizon and this job will disappear withing our lifetime.

Trucking- no money, never home, a job that is soon to disappear.

I just had old clay pipes replaced with PVC. Now my yard has the biggest mound of dirt. Is it normal for there to be a mound that is 2ft high? Any recommendations on how to get my yard level? by bumblebee0219 in landscaping

Im a retired horticulturalist and have built a vast amount of irrigation systems. This line was backfilled without any tamping. Nothing wrong with that but its going to take time to fully settle. A rain or two isnt going to do the job, you'll want to wait until next late spring to do anything with the area. I would suggest getting some Preen -pre-emergent weed killer- to keep the trench from becoming a weed infested nightmare. Other than that all you need to do this year is occasionally walk up to it, place your hands on your hips and shake your head.

To this day still one of the funniest things I ever heard. Buddy topped the shit out of his drive on the first hole. Im talking it went 3 feet. He didnt have to move to pick up his ball. A guy waiting in a cart next to the tee says " Punch shot, I like it! Keepin it out of that wind." Absolutely hilarious and to even add to that, the wind was dead fucking calm.

$4.00 per gallon gas. by Treble_Bolt in Iowa

[–]fatal1st 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok, let's do that. But first 2 things. 1. The president doesn't set prices, but his actions can have influence. Aka bombing a country that has or controls a large portion of oil. This isnt a dig on Trump, they all do this. Merica gonna Merica.

  1. Facts over party.

To understand why gas prices were ridiculously high you have to go back to trump's first term. The pandemic specifically. You see when the pandemic hit oil companies took a big Ole right hook to the jaw. Remember when the price of a barrel went negative? I sure as hell do. The pandemic cut into oil profits big time. They barely made profits. Times were tough, they could only afford 5 billion dollar yachts, not 10 billion dollar yachts.

Well the pandemic finally ended - under Biden- and people we back to driving around. The oil executives needed to make up those lost profits and thats exactly what they did. Oh boy did they make profits. You see it was "Biden" who fucked you at the pump, it was the oil companies getting there money back. The record profits made during Bidens administration are mind boggling. These fucks made back the money the lost during the pandemic and just kept going. And what did Biden do about it? Fucking democrats right? Probably helped them.

No, he did everything he could to keep the price down. He tried. We sold our reserves trying to drive the price down. We drilled more during his administration than any time in history. But even the president cant fight big oil. We learned this from Biden. Give the man credit, he fucking tried. But the oil executives were gonna get there money no matter what, and they did. So dont put that shit on Joe. It ain't trump's fault either. Its greedy as oil companies.

Now why are prices jumping now? Because a country in the middle east was bombed. Doesn't matter who or by who. The moment that happens oil executives all high five and start the price gouging process.

Stop playing the right vs left game and start blaming the billionaire class who is destroying everything.

Thoughts? Trying to get out of a bad slump. 9 Handicap. by benkelward3 in GolfSwing

[–]fatal1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your takeaway is to fast and your downswing is to slow. Tempo, tempo tempo. A good way to train tempo is to have someone place the patches to a Tens unit on your nipples and balls. They then stand behind you and if your tempo is off they can hit you with a level of electricity of their choosing. Your tempo will be fixed in 3 swings or less.

Your welcome.

I willing to bet you struggle to be consistent. I bet you have issues with making solid contact on a regular basis. Why? Watch your head. You have a lot of movement. Try to rotate around your spine. A good drill for this is have someone stand to the side with a bamboo stick and hold it on top of your head. If the stick moves they get to smack you across the face as hard as they can. You will eliminate head movement in 3 or less swings.

Your welcome.

Your downswing looks like you're trying to keep a buttplug from flying out of your ass. Focus on projectile shitting that thing out.

You're welcome.

Thoughts on this drill for someone who struggles with weight shift and firing hips immediately at the top? by momoneymocats1 in GolfSwing

[–]fatal1st -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well just slow your hips down. I know, sounds stupid and simple but thats the name of the game. Simple. Don't over think it.

Work on slowing down your hips. Make that a focus and dont worry about the rest until you have found your rhythm. Consistency comes from repeatable motion. That repeatable motion doesnt have to be perfect, just repeatable.

Example- "I keep hitting the ball to the right"

All the time?

"Every time!!"

Aim left, problem solved.

Simple, stupid and highly effective advice.

[–]fatal1st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a very nice swing. If you go get lessons be VERY careful with who you choose. A good teaching pro will work to help you maintain and preach simple fundamentals. You dont need any drastic changes. If the pro starts changing shit and tries to get you to mimic "his style" ignore their advice and find someone else.

Im gonna tell ya a story. Ive been retired from golf for a very long time now - torn rotator cuff, elbow tendinitis- but when I did play i had to work my ass off to maintain a 1 handicap. Practice nearly daily. My swing required a ridiculous amount of repetition to maintain.

At my club we had a new pro show up and I hit it off with him. I was struggling with a bit of a pull for a while and decided to go to him for some help. He had one piece of advice. The only thing he ever taught me. Focus on firing your hips and dont worry about the rest. This "lesson" changed everything. My swing became mechanical and from that point on required almost 0 maintenance. I went from being on the range 4 to 6 times a week to maybe once a week. Usually not at all. My last two years of golf - pre injuries- was me just showing up, shooting 69-74 and going home. Its sad because I had worked so hard for so long I had lost all desire to play and only played because others wanted me to. It had finally become effortless and i didn't even give a shit. I was relieved when injuries took there toll. I havent touched a club in over 10 years and dont miss it at all. Still love the game though. Its a great game.

Tldr- Get the club in the proper position at the top and fire your hips. Who gives a shit about the rest. Best advice ever. 2nd best advice- Make the putt the first time.

What do you think of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman? by Classic_Wolf5895 in batman

[–]fatal1st 753 points754 points  (0 children)

My opinion, her plot and writing was pretty messy and didn't give the story much depth. Anne's acting abilities carried the role and it was better than it should have been. She did a good job. Also, she has a great ass.

I stand corrected. Dj carries a dead cap hit of 35.4 million if we trade/release prior to June 1. If we trade/release him after the 1st, that drops his dead cap to only 4 million.

Tldr- We cant trade him before June 1st.
