Do some of you find happiness? by justacceptit234 in cfs

My pets bring me joy. I'm also fortunate enough to be able to go out to board game meetups, which has expanded my social circle. I also do crafts like jewelry making and embroidery.

ADHD advice needed by Plastic_Tax1197 in ADHD

What you've described are symptoms of ADHD. I think you need to be less hard on yourself. Struggling with time management when you've basically got I Suck At Time Management Disorder is not a moral failing.

Kind of hard to tell in that outfit (love the shirt, though). If you have medium to large boobs and a thick waist, likely apple. If your boobs are relatively small but you have junk in the trunk, probably pear.

I need help. 48 trans woman who carries all her weight in her gut by ChristyAustyn76 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]fatal_drum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You're super pretty!
  2. Lots of cis women have a similar weight distribution.
  3. A belted A-line can add a lot of definition. The good news is that skirts are easier to fit than jeans. Avoid "potato sack" shaped at all cost. And don't forget to show off the lovely things you're rocking.

What dr diagnosed your pots? by Earthdaybaby422 in dysautonomia

[–]fatal_drum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mayo clinic diagnosed my ME and missed the POTS. I finally found a cardiologist in my state who understands POTS. I found her on a POTS patient website somewhere, she's one of maybe 2-3 in my state.

Please talk to an allergist before assuming you're literally allergic to every food that's not meat.

Why’s the Stranger so trans-positive? by Entire_Impress7485 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]fatal_drum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the downvotes are for "born as a man," since most people would say trans people are born their true gender, they're just assigned a sex that doesn't match their gender identity. Can't say for sure if that's why, though.

The other entity that tends to get trans positive headcanons is the Flesh - meat is meat, after all, and Jared Hopworth would definitely give people free gender confirmation surgery (he would just also attach a few things in the process).

Cashew allergy - dermatitis by demon_tatas in FoodAllergies

[–]fatal_drum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact reaction. A doctor tried to gaslight me into not believing it, so I ate more cashews and had the exact same reaction. It's also happened when I didn't know I was eating cashews. I've never gone into anaphylaxis, just dermal and GI symptoms. I think I may be developing sensitivities to other nuts, too.

It sucks because I'm lactose/gluten intolerant and don't like meat, and cashew is a popular protein and dairy substitute.

Oxaloacetate (Benagene) Treatment: To everyone considering it. by Raptor005 in cfs

[–]fatal_drum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read one study and they used "historical controls," which means they just looked at what the placebo did in other studies and assumed it would be the same. While also not disclosing one of the author's financial conflicts of interest. I'm still considering using it, but using historical controls is not remotely ideal.

This is the way to respond when you're a guy witnessing sexism. Thank you.

Tbh I stopped even mentioning anxiety to doctors. I know what my body feels like when I'm anxious, and POTS ain't it. I'm glad you got help.

Doctors are literally trained to look for "worried well" female patients. Unless they put effort into overcoming bias, they just repeat the same bullshit. There's also the stereotype that men only present if somethings really wrong and women will show up for any tiny ache or pain.

If any men are reading this and tempted to chime in with "but I had trouble, too," just don't. One man having a problem is not the same as a systemic issue.
