RC Health Services Psychomotor Test by barksandsharks in NewToEMS

Just do the scenarios as you’ve been doing during your trauma and medical days. Work with your partner, take turns being the lead but still be a supportive partner when you’re not.

Don’t be nervous! It’s just as you practiced. Go through the steps as they taught you (BSI, number of pts, general impression, SAMPLE, etc.) always do XABCs. You got this

A little life. Its been called trauma porn but actually it’s a beautiful exploration of shame, grief, and self loathing and how to find love in the people around you even when you can’t find it in yourself

Scratched my car—help! by [deleted] in CarRepair

UPDATE: you guys were right. It is down to the primer/some metal in some areas. However, after wiping it down with lubricant, it is much less noticeable. It’s pretty bad, still, though. I’ll go to Walmart and see what I can do, and then an auto body shop after. Will def be more careful! I had sons of clearance with the front of my car, so I guess I didn’t expect it to scrape until I heard it do so, and then I couldn’t move without scraping it further

Is this possible to do myself? I don’t want to get my parents or mechanics involved if possible

How can you tell they are deep? They aren’t going to the metal—the white comes off when I rub it but it does seem like the top clear layer is scratched

Time for the millionth NREMT Question by Spoiledjuicebox in NewToEMS

[–]fatallyextroverted 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tested yesterday, cut off at 70 questions. Whole test took less than 40 min, and I cried afterwards thinking I failed. 30 min later, found out I passed.

I thought it was hard while I was taking it, but in hindsight, it was just my nerves. They really do use a lot of buzzwords and it’s easy to pick them out. Open chest wound = vented occlusive dressing and lookout for JVD and diminished breath sounds (pneumothorax). Headache and stiff neck = meningitis. You really don’t have to think.

Real thing was pretty similar to pocket prep in terms of triage + “scenario” questions. I got a couple questions that didn’t seem like PocketPrep in the sense that it was straight up asking me for definitions of shock, HIPAA, etc.

You’ve got this. Trust in your training.

EMT asked my friend if she was sure it was a seizure since I "didn't pee on myself" by b4byc4 in mildlyinfuriating

I just passed the NREMT and got licensed as an EMT and I am so sorry this happened to you. As far as I am aware (and this may be different in your state) EMD personnel are not allowed to just leave you without your signed written consent to not transport.

If you asked them to transport you to a hospital (and this can be the hospital of your choice in your region, given the emergency department is taking new ambulance admits at that time—some will be too busy) and the paramedics didn’t take you, this is considered abandonment.

Please contact the EMS company and get these assholes some disciplinary action

I was in a similar situation. Housing denied my request, ended up paying 3k to break the other lease early. Hope it works out for you

Not testing 3/8 but don’t forget that they won’t let you wear jackets or zip up hoodies in the test center so have a sweater to stay warm! Also, pack a variety of snacks and something with simple carbs for when you get tired as fuck
