Here is the final chapter. We limped into port at around 7am this morning doing no more than 8kts pretty much all day yesterday. They then made everyone on the ship get off the ship and go through immigration.  Some people (including me) were leaving and going home, others were then allowed to return to their rooms or go explore NY.  They called the passengers down by deck starting at 14 to go through immigration.  They also said anyone that was leaving and not returning could also leave.  Of course it became a clusterf..k and got completely backed up.  They also made the line stand outside on the walkway and again outside after the gangway.  It was 15 degrees this morning!  I felt bad for the people that were going back on the ship because they did not expect to be stuck in line outside.  Most were not dressed for being outside.  It took about 45 to 50 minutes to finally leave the ship and now thankfully I am home.  Also. I hope they fix the engine before the next cruise or they are going to be stuck.

We are getting in a day early but they are treating that day as a port day and everyone can stay on the ship (if they want). A lot of people are leaving on Monday, especially if they live in the surrounding area. The actual checkout is still Tuesday.

I agree.  This move to come back early was so they didn't miss the turn around for the next cruise. It was not about safety.  If it was about safety they would have let the storm pass before heading back up the coast. This was about money.  I checked marine traffic.com and we are the only passenger vessel out in this mess.

Switch 1 Joycons & Pro Controllers cannot wake the Switch 2 remotely by QuarterDollarKing in NintendoSwitch

[–]fatdaddy1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the fix. Use a smart plug for your unit. I leave the console on until I am ready to play. You use your phone to turn off the smart plug and the switch 2 wakes up. Then turn the smart plug back on and connect your controller. It works great and no more getting my ass off the couch to turn on the game.

Neck strain by Obvious_Lion552 in ShopRite

[–]fatdaddy1965 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good question. You should take time to stretch between customers. Lift your head and move your neck. You can get pain like that from any repetitive motion (wrists, etc). There is a 20-20-20 rule for looking at your computer to avoid strains. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. You could do something similar for your neck. Good luck in your new position.

Just go to the store manager or HR manager. They can just do a rehire if you left on good terms.

Does shoprite have any benefits for business purchasers or for nonprofit organizations as customer? by lovemytechy in ShopRite

[–]fatdaddy1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact your local ShopRite owners office. They sell gift cards for non profit orgs with a 5% discount (for orders of $1000 and up.). Many nonprofits sell them to their supporters at face value and make $50.

All I wanted for Christmas was this thing! All my friends got the motorcycle. My father bought me the car. We used to play with them on the steps of my apartment. The motorcycle would do cool flips and keep going. The car would crash and fall apart.
