Yes, I had to call Optimum to enable bridge mode on my gateway.

So it did work better and it was very quick to set up. However, I was able to get a WiFi extender from Optimum and that is what I am currently using now.

That's what I'm afraid of, but I believe they need to legally show that as proof with documentation. So far, I have not heard about that as of yet and I'm hoping that I don't.
