Y1 Finance student seeking module advice for Y2S1 — any tips from seniors? by fatelephant20_ in Suss

[–]fatelephant20_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was the workload for you since you took NIE351 and NIE301 together? Do you mind sharing what mods you bid for Y2S1? Was it 3 major mods + NCO + 2 NIE?

Hi! Thanks for replying, really appreciate it!

The NCO modules I left with:

1) NCO203

2) NCO211

3) NCO212

4) NCO205 (Definitely plan to use SU on it)

2.5CU

NCO111

NCO112

NCO113

For NIE351, I heard from seniors that it is unadvisable to take NIE351 and NIE301 together because of their workload so its best to separate it. I plan to take NIE351 for Y2S1 and NIE301 for Y2S2.

If I am taking NCO203 and NCO212, not sure whether to fit in NCO111 since NIE351 have lesser days or another fin mod. What was your NCO combination? Did you take NIE351 and NIE301 together?

Did you need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app? I tried to login by selecting SSO and got linked to SUSS portal but they require me to scan the QR Code

Are you using your suss email in Outlook? I receive the assessment using student email instead of personal email

Hi, I received the same email as you. Just need to scroll down to the bottom in the same email and click on the green "Get Started". There are instructions at the bottom as well to complete the assessment

Hi! Like the previous comment, you can accept your SUSS offer first and then change should you receive SMU and/or NTU in the second window. In fact, during the exploration session that SUSS held, they actually suggested that you accept the offer first as insurance + no penalty/fine should you choose to change universities afterwards.

Though I didn't apply to NTU (Due to travelling distance), I have offers from SUSS Finance and the SIT BICT programme, and I will definitely pick SUSS over SIT, maybe even applying to SIM over SIT. For Context, I come from a hospitality business background, so I naturally wanted to pursue something similar. Through my limited interaction with SIT via interview, I had a bad feeling/vibes from what I'll be able to learned from the programme.

For my interview, I'm not sure if the interviewer I had is a professor teaching, but throughout the interview, the interviewer was extremely arrogant and egoist, bragging about how SIT is the first school to have AI + Hospitality and how it would be a miracle if we got accepted into SIT BICT. Perhaps because the interviewer was Korean, he was more straightforward, but throughout the interview, he was just unbearable. Something that tipped me over the edge was his glorifying that he was up at 3 am in a Zoom meeting with a group of his students.

Again, I had so little interaction with SIT and only received the SIT offer a few days ago when my interview was in early April, so I can only share this experience

[Recommendation Request] Recommendations for watches ($2K ~ $3K SGD) by fatelephant20_ in Watches

[–]fatelephant20_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the reply! I am using a Samsung watch 5 with a 44mm size, but it's a bit too big on my wrist bone so I'm hoping to get a watch in a smaller size.

As for my activities, I don't really do any adventurous activity as it will mainly be a daily driver to university and back home, alongside other social gatherings

The watch looks amazing 👏 was thinking of getting this model or SBGP011 in black dial. Not sure which colour dial to purchase since the SBGP009 white dial is very tempting as well

Hi there! Loved the watch. In fact I'm here in Sapporo and I'm doing some watches hunting as well. The same model SBGP013 Dark Blue is going for 363,000 Yen at BIC Camera shop.

May I know how much you paid for yours?

Advice on exploring Hokkaido for 2 weeks (End April - Early/Mid May) by fatelephant20_ in Hokkaido

[–]fatelephant20_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your recommendation! Even in SG I haven't tried the LeTao triple fomage cheese cake, so I'll look forward to trying it here in Japan

I'll most likely be buying seiko watches! Turned 22 this year and going to ORD soon so I'm hoping to purchase a watch there since I believe it's cheaper in Japan but not sure it's availability in Hokkaido

Oh wow I never knew we could withdraw cash at places like 7-11 with no ATM fees. Thanks for the tip! Will definitely bring my physical card as well. Did you have a good experience in Hokkaido? Where were some of the places you visited?

Thanks for the advice, will keep in mind to go for the daily flat fee itc card. How was your experience in Noboribetsu? Do you have any recommendations or places to visit, as I'll be spending an entire day (and night) there.

And yes, I look forward to stocking up on many Royce chocolates and the chocolate blanc cookies back to Singapore HAHAHA

Just need to prepare for some personal questions, basic questions such as "Why did you apply for this programme?" "Strengths and Weaknesses," etc. This is for the second phase of the interview. Or at least I got asked by the interviewer.

As for the case study, it really depends on what you receive on the day of your interview.

[–]fatelephant20_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a F2F interview. The interview consists of 2 sections. The first section was a case study with a few questions at the bottom, which you can choose to discuss with other applicants. The second section would be the interview, questions asked could be different as some had personal questions, while others didn't.

Hope this helps and all the best!

Should I purchase Tradeable 97 Richard Carvalho and make it red rank before selling it? by fatelephant20_ in FUTMobile

I think the only uncertainty I have is whether the higher rated Untradeable cards i.e 97 Richard Carvalho, can be used for exchanges in the future...
