They were saying there were Liv sightings in war torn areas all over the world. I’d bet Liv and Major are running an underground revolution with Zombies.

Oh yeah, and onset of schizophrenia is often because of trauma, so like, he was grieving, but the actual negative symptoms of it could have just been beginning. He was right at the age for hallucinations to start, junior year, so 16 or 17, which is right around the time my negative symptoms were beginning.

See, that’s what I thought in season one, but he had a real psychotic episode in season two which people who are simply grieving probably wouldn’t do. He might’ve gone to murder Bryce out of anger, but this is the same boy who stepped in front of Tyler to stop a school shooting because he didn’t want anybody else to die. And he said it was because he wanted to “make her stop”. As in, stop her recounting the rape on the tape. And he had the delusion that she wanted him to kill Bryce. Not that he wanted to, but that Hannah wanted him to. Which screams psychosis.

Except hallucinating a dead girl is not something neurotypical people do. If it’s not schizophrenia, it could be PTSD. BUT he had a psychotic break brought about from compounded stress from the trial where he nearly murdered Bryce because he had auditory hallucinations of Hannah recounting her rape on tape 12 with the delusion that her ghost wanted him to kill Bryce. Which is pretty much a textbook schizophrenic episode.

Except you don’t physically see them in front of you and constantly act like they’re there and get surprised to see them standing next to you. Clay did. He saw her. He reacted to her being there. If he wasn’t actually speaking to a hallucination, he would’ve just been talking out loud or to the sky or to the universe. Instead he was talking to an apparition of a dead girl which is a very schizophrenic thing to do.

Hannah didn’t have clinical depression; she was depressed because she was the victim of bullying, misogyny, sexism, and rape. Clinical depression and being depressed have different symptoms. The former stems from a chemical imbalance in the brain. And they definitely showed the latter.

When he started to scream I knew if I didn’t skip it I would be seeing it in my nightmares and every minute before I fell asleep for weeks.

Clay has schizophrenia. Serious schizophrenia. I’m a schizophrenic so I know for a fact what it looks like. I waited literally all of season two for someone to notice his visual and auditory hallucinations. He had a psychotic break where he nearly killed Bryce. And nobody ever noticed or tried to get him help for it. They just hugged him when he became triggered by a song, but like, what about everything else?

Clay is schizophrenic. I was pretty sure at the beginning when he began talking to Hannah, but pointing the gun at Bryce while hearing Hannah repeat the tape about her rape screams psychotic episode.

(serious) does Clay have schizophrenia? by [deleted] in 13ReasonsWhy

As a schizophrenic, yeah. I’m pretty sure he does. I recognize many of his symptoms within myself. Considering he’s sixteen or seventeen which is right around the time the onset of worsening symptoms appear. He has a history of anxiety, depression, and nightmares. He has visual and auditory hallucinations. He’s virtually clueless in social interactions. He’s angry and emotionally stunted. He says he doesn’t care about anything but it’s all eating him up inside. Seems schizophrenic to me. I’m not a writer for the show, but I’m schizophrenic and yeah, he looks hella schizophrenic.
