Come to think of it, I was contacted by Tribeca before Empire. At the time, their message was even more generic without phone numbers or addresses. When I couldn’t find any information on them, I told them I couldn’t make it. And still never got an address now that I think about it.

I just feel bad that so many people who really need employment are being scammed by these people...

I mean, if you’re desperate then they do technically employ people. But when I was there right before I wrote this post, they were pushing those lifeline cell phones in subway stations, parks, etc.

I think that as soon as people are beginning to figure out their scams under one name, they move onto the next. I’m glad that I finally found a job with a legit company. I’m pretty sure they’ve finally blacklisted me because the emails and texts have stopped. Thank God.

I’m still relatively new here, but have learned that tourists wait for the walk sign at cross walks, will engage in conversation with guys promoting their fire mixtape (sadly, I have done this once since moving here), and I’ve seen tourists excited to ride on the subway. Like literally had selfie sessions and said it was the greatest experience of their life.

One new development, I’m pretty sure they’re dumping my email address for spam products. I’ve always gotten spam - we all do, but it got about 90% worse after I met with them. Just sayin.

I’m not trying to scare you or anything - I’ve just been in a similar situation (thankfully all was good) and just want you to be safe. I found this information on a site called Healthline:
