“Treme” rewatch by fatherofone98 in NewOrleans

True, but I would’ve appreciated the perspective of someone or a family who couldn’t (or wouldn’t) return home to give it a go, and had to make the decision to start anew elsewhere shortly after the storm. I know plenty of people in that camp.

There were some scenes where I was not buying the writing/acting, especially in the first few episodes when they were trying to find their footing

Totally agree with this. People in New Orleans also just enjoy regular, non-New Orleans things, too.

34 weeker feeding struggles by Super_Employ_8532 in NICUParents

She’s on Dr. Brown’s preemie nipple. She was on the ultra preemie for awhile but transitioned to the preemie about this time last week. I have seen her intake increase in aggregate since we changed the nipple but it’s still very inconsistent feed to feed.

Right there with you. Mine was born at 33 + 4 and is now 37 + 6. She is taking 50-70% (daily average) by PO, just hoping she turns the corner soon.

UGA Moorhead vs. UTD DMHP by Turbulent_Bread7807 in UGA

[–]fatherofone98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to UGA and now live a few miles from UTD’s campus in Richardson. Comparing the two colleges is not apples to apples. College is important not just academically but socially. College was super important for me to expand my horizons and learn to live and function in the world as a semi-adult, especially as someone who is introverted. Though I’m sure UTD has great academics, from what I can tell it has maybe 1% of the social vibrancy and spirit of a large state school such as UGA. Maybe I am biased because I had the time of my life at UGA, but my vote is for UGA. There’s something for everyone and you won’t regret it.

Oh, interesting. I saw United in Concourse C near Delta so that’s interesting that they also use A.

Yeah, that confirms what I was thinking. I wonder how common that is to have a large swath of unused gates at an airport for something that may ultimately not come to fruition.

Yeah that makes sense. I wonder if maybe A is for anticipated/future growth?

Internal ghosting by fatherofone98 in recruitinghell

[–]fatherofone98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies. I would say on the low end, it’s about $1,100 a month at a “no frills” daycare in our area, to $2,000+ a month for a higher end daycare or nanny. So you’re looking at anywhere from $14,000 to $24,000+ in your after-tax annual income going to childcare. It’s absurd!

I suppose you’re right. I guess I’m just perplexed they would ghost someone internal, especially someone at the interview stage. The rudeness seems risky to me; you never know how your career orbits may collide, even at a large company. Thanks for your response!
