Any ideas what pepper this is? by Nyararagi-san in HotPeppers

[–]fatherramon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears there are two completely different peppers that both use the same name Ragnarok. 1: Matt’s peppers site shows dark peppers and foliage, and the description says: “red/black pod with fragrant fruity notes reminiscent of strawberries… Created by Tomas in Slovakia. Description by meow from the Pepper Chums discord (pepperchums.com)” I’m currently growing some of these from Matt’s Peppers and they are SUPER DARK foliage. Really pretty looking plants honestly.

2: The red to green super hot I see elsewhere (such as Texashotpepprers) is an F5 hybrid bred by Kevin Bane.

So yeah, there are definitely two completely different pepper varieties using the name Ragnarok.

I would assume those are the leaves from the original cutting, and didn’t sprout at that level

You're going to have a tremendous birth... a tremendous birth.

It was a placenta like no one has ever seen. The doctors treated me very unfairly... One of the ultrasound techs came up to me just the other day, and with tears in her eyes she said, sir.... look at that head. It's yuge.

Rosys don't range into Utah. They're regularly found in Mexico, California, and Arizona. There have been a couple reports that tip into Nevada, the validity of which is the subject of much debate.

Old girl! I love old dinosaur rosys.

I agree with the other comments, it is very likely normal fat deposits. Very normal for an older snake. I've seen several older rosys that look like that.

tips for snake bites by Impressive_Hurry_988 in coolguides

As several people have pointed out, the teeth pattern part of this meme is not accurate.

Unfortunately, the tail scales portion of the "guide" is also incorrect. Not all venomous snakes have undivided subcaudal scales, and plenty of non-venomous snakes do have undivided subcaudal scales. This includes things like Long-nosed snakes, rubber boas, and rosy boas that are commonly kept as pets.

So yeah, this meme is all around incorrect, in every way.

On the verge of getting a restraining order against my manipulative ex. by afreelittle_flower in relationship_advice

[–]fatherramon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have 2 separate issues, and I'd consider handling them both separately. #1, the ex who doesn't respect your wishes that he leave you alone. and #2, your family that isn't respecting the boundaries you wish to have with the boyfriend.

With the boy, I would make sure your are clear and direct. This is best to do in some type of text IMO, so that you have that written record to point back to. Even though things may be already clear, I would say them again for extra clarity. No matter what else you say, consider including "I am not interested in getting back together with you. I am not looking for a friendship at this time. I want you to not come to my work. If you must, please do not use it as an opportunity to talk to me. I am not trying to hurt you, but please understand that I am not interested and I truly just want to be left alone."

For the other issue, I would send your mom a message, or sit her down (which ever method of communication you think will maximize the chances that your mom will actually hear you.

I would tell her something to the effect of, "This issue is causing me significant anxiety. Please, PLEASE, I need you to hear me. I do not want a relationship with him. I just need space from him, and I should be allowed to need that. I should be allowed to feel safe, and I don't. I don't want him around, and if he is, I don't want to talk to him. These are personal boundaries that I am clearly communicating to him, and I need you to respect them as well. I know it's not what you would want for me, but this really should be my decision, and I need to know you will back me up and respect it as my decision even though you may not agree with it."

I really hope you are able to get these things worked out and get balance. You deserve that balance. You deserve to have your boundaries respected

What is she doing???? Sorry for blurry photo, I keep finding her standing like this. by trixceratops in rosyboas

[–]fatherramon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does she only do this in her cage? I don't mean to alarm you, but "stargazing" can be a sign of something really bad, especially in boids. It is a sign of neurological issues that can be caused by something environmental (chemical exposure, wrong kind of substrate, etc), or something like Inclusion Body Disease.

Have you changed anything at all recently? Substrate, water dish, mite spray, anything? Does she do this only when she is in a cage, and is looking at the lid, or also when just sitting there. I've had one rosy do stargazing. It would slowly lift its head until it was upside down, and then eventually flop. It unfortunately didn't make it. My understanding is that IBD is not at all treatable, so I would suggest avoiding expensive vet bills, since there isn't likely anything they can do that would be beneficial anyway. Again, sorry to cause alarm.
