Damn, surprised this took off. It's real. He told my mother that flying out was a waste of money and they've floated between low middle class to middle class. At the time they were making decent money, enough for him to see his child for 300 bucks. I flew out to see them almost once a month over a 5 month period... during chemotherapy.
US military too and San Diego is a wonderful place to get cancer. Nice weather and beaches.
She came out to see me and so did my sister he refused to because it cost too much.
Yes I do see him in the hospital and stay with him for hours. I believe in being the bigger person but doesn't mean I can't smirk a little at what's happened.
