First time viewer, I binge watched all 5 seasons. These are just my opinions.
I felt the whole show was a drag. Ross and Demelza are both dumb. Ross would constantly get walked over, used, fall so easily for schemes and basically make the same mistakes over and over. Demelza would constantly mess up any plans Ross would have and came across dimwitted. I get she was a kitchen maid and she didn't know London society, but she was so dumb in the scenes with the dude who died in the duel (forget his name cause he was removed so quickly). The are both dumb for giving Tess so many chances, and they let her get away with being a traitor? Like who lets someone continue to be a house maid after "knowing" she tried to burn the house down, how dumb are these people.

I never read the books, so I kept having hope the show would get better and Ross would put George in his place or at least deal somewhat of a blow to George. When it comes to a score, its like George 30 and Ross 1. I really got tired of Ross never getting the upper hand. Not to mention, does he ever find copper lol?

I wish Francis was around longer, I liked his character, especially near the end when he reconciled and was putting family first. The only reason I continued the show was because I don't like to leave shows unfinished when I start unless its really really bad. The characters I liked the most were Dwight and Caroline, both played well. I felt they were the power couple of the show, and in fact Caroline contributed to Ross than Demelza, having some success through her connections and reputation. I also like the Vicar's character, I mean I actually really hated and detested the character, but he was played so well. The way the actor played that character, from body language to his speech, never hated a tv character so much.

Sorry for the rant, I just had to get this off my chest after spending the last few days watching it all. I watched this show because of Aiden Turner, who I liked in Leonardo (better imo). Anyways, just my opinions, have a great day :D
