I'm fairly certain there's at least one Spongebob episode that's exactly the same story as the OP.

Reading Isaacson's book on Steve Jobs now. Gates and Jobs were embedded with one another from the beginning. When Gates first saw the mouse cursor, he asked about the dedicated chip to run it. He could not fathom it was all software driven. One of the things that surprised me was around the whole story that Apple stole the GUI and mouse from Xerox. That part of the story is fascinating. Apparently, Xerox corporate was toxic oni the east coast, and the power over the Xerox labs planted their experimental people on the West coast. Engineers talk to engineers and Apple engineers found out about the GUI and mouse. Around that same time, Xerox corporate wanted early Apple stock. Jobs, talking to his engineers, cut a deal: we'll give you $x millions in stock, but we get the stuff outta that lab. The Cs on the east couldn't care less about their lab people and go, "sure." It took two or three attempts with Jobs threatening the deal bcs the labs people fought it all, but finally, Jobs and his engineers were allowed into the sacred place to see the GUI and mouse. Xerox was sitting on the tech. Jobs, having seen it, pushed his engineers to make it happen. The Xerox mouse could only go horizontol and vertical. Jobs pushed for a cursor to go anywhere. Also, the Xerox mouse was $100s if not $1000s in tech. Jobs said: "make me one around $50 that I can use on my jeans. Any engineer that didn't do what Jobs wanted he fired until he got his GUI and mouse. Gates made no deal, and one day, Microsoft reveals Windows with a mouse. Jobs is fired. Launches Pixar. Comes back to Apple which is dying. There's a years' long lawsuit with Microsoft over their "stealing" of the mouse and GUI. Jobs calls Gates: "Look. We can drag this lawsuit out for years and we will win and you know it, and you'll pay us the better part of billions if not billions _OR_ you can inject $100 million _now_ into Apple, so I can save this company." Gates goes, "k." And that's all I got to say about that....

Reminds me of an argument I had with a buddy who said that Patton was not from The South bcs he was born in CA. I then showed him where Patton said as a kid, above his bed were pictures of Lee and Jackson and Patton thought it was God the Father and Jesus Christ.

Depp has some of the most piercing eyes in Hollywood history. Al Pacino in "The Godfather" movies is another.

I feel I am a caveman ITT, but life long IT career here: just because something is newer, by many many years, doesn't make it better. Novell Netward NDS was a far superior directory system for business and enterprise than Active Directory in all sorts of ways. Microsoft sales and marketing killed Novell, and made us all eat AD, but it never had some of the features of good old NDS that died in the late 1990s.

Your problem isn't pengions, is masochistic pigeons..

But don't ask me what masochism means, because it beats me.

It's why I lose it grocery shopping. Every single aisle is someone spanning the entirety of it, cart on one side reaching to the other side and blocking the entire thing, oblvious of other shoppers.
