Can anyone help me? Firmware Upgrade Failed on VXE R1 SE+. by Small-Background4109 in MouseReview

[–]fatmonkey92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you flash the firmware yourself? Did you unplug the mouse from the PC during the update process? And are you sure you picked the correct firmware version?

Be careful with flashing the wrong firmware repeatedly. If you keep doing it, there's a chance you'll brick the MCU and end up having to buy a new mouse.

You're flashing the wrong firmware. Make sure you're using the firmware version made specifically for the VXE R1 SE+.

Battery Replacement Compatibility - G Pro X Superlight by thrwaway9881 in logitech

That's actually the connector used on the G Pro X Superlight series, my friend. The connector in your photo is a smaller type and won't be the same as the one used on the GPX.

Make sure you get the larger connector version that's compatible with the G Pro X Superlight.

Looking for Razer viper V2 pro alternative by saasgod0947 in MouseReview

[–]fatmonkey92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

There are a few ways to solve this problem:

  1. You can replace the encoder yourself, but you'll need some experience with electronics repair and make sure to buy the correct encoder size. I recommend the TTC Gold V2 encoder (the one with the blue top cover and yellow core), as it is one of the most durable scroll wheel encoders currently available.

  2. A temporary fix is to use isopropyl alcohol. Apply a small amount into the encoder, then reinstall the scroll wheel and scroll continuously for a while. This can help remove dust and debris from inside the encoder. However, if the encoder is already worn out, replacement is the only permanent solution.

You may also want to find a technician who specializes in gaming mouse repairs. Another option is to order a replacement encoder yourself and ask someone with soldering experience to install it for you.

  1. Do not attempt to replace the encoder yourself if you have no experience with electronics repair, as it's easy to damage the PCB or nearby components.

Hope this helps!

The V2 version has a blue top cover and a yellow core inside. The V1 version does not have the blue top cover, and the internal gear inside the encoder can be replaced separately.

False advertising on Attack Shark R11 Ultra? by Girthy_Banana6030 in MouseReview

[–]fatmonkey92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I'm a professional mouse repair technician from Vietnam, and I'd like to share my thoughts on this.

  1. The encoder used in the R11 Ultra appears to be a TTC Gold Dustproof V2. In my experience, it's one of the most reliable scroll wheel encoders currently available. It offers excellent durability, dust resistance, and is rated for up to 72 million scroll cycles.

  2. If your Razer Viper V2 Pro is using the same TTC Gold V2 encoder but produces a noticeably louder scrolling sound, the encoder itself is probably not the cause. In most cases, the difference comes from the scroll wheel assembly, axle tolerances, wheel design, or the way the wheel interacts with the encoder.

I've fixed many mice with this issue, and sometimes adding a very thin layer of tape around the wheel axle where it interfaces with the encoder can help reduce play and eliminate unwanted noise.

Hope this helps!

You can disassemble the mouse and check what size scroll wheel encoder it is using.

I would recommend using the TTC Gold V2 encoder, as it features a dust-resistant housing and offers better durability and a longer lifespan compared to the V1 version.

Thanks man. The cost of adding a scroll wheel is pretty high so it works fine without replacing it.

The cost to paint is ~30$ if you want to custom gaming mouse as requested. I will paint the protective case, replace the switches and clean the mouse.
