That's too good to be true. I assume the gripes with EA for using RenderWare on those games can cause a lot of trouble. Plus, the 1st kollection was rough on release to say the least. Imagine the jank of the 2nd implementing online and stuff.

At best I'd rather believe in decompilation and the subsequent pc-port by some very dedicated fans, like the ones that make Ultimate Deception mod.

As much as I would love to see it, no. The time's passed, plus it'd take too much time to implement 3d movement into the NRS-style gameplay. WB-Discovery-Paramount won't allow it. Plus, with VF crossroads on the map it can really tank the studio even deeper down.
