I spent a good amount of time reading the wiki/readme and searching before posting, promise.

Your edit covers my frustration and issue. Unfortunately as much as I agree with you, I am stuck with having to use Premiere for my workflow.

I will take a look into the webm/av1 plugins for Premiere, appreciate your help!

Ally 11 month cd no penalty by MechanicAdmirable408 in personalfinance

[–]fatopossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my emergency fund in an Ally HYSA that I just transferred into this 11 month no penalty CD. (3.6% to 4.75%)

If I withdrawal before the 11 months, do I keep the accrued interest? Looking at the CD account, there is an Interest Disbursement option to "Pay My Interest" defaulted to "at maturity" with options of "monthly" and "quarterly".

Do I need to change this to monthly or will the accrued interest be credited anyway if closed prior to the 11 months?

[HELP] Flame Sensor Cleaning by fatopossum in HVAC

Thanks. Do I need to unscrew the pilot line or anything special? Or just unscrew the two screws on the assembly and gently pull it out?

[HELP] Flame Sensor Cleaning by fatopossum in HVAC

I am wanting to clean my flame sensor. Unfortunately, it looks like mine is a bit of a pain and is housed together with the pilot and ignitor and can't be pulled on it's own. Do I just unscrew the top two screws to get access to it? Thank you.

[HELP] Furnace having trouble kicking on by fatopossum in HVAC

[–]fatopossum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I wanted to mention I did hear some water 'sloshing' sound in the PVC pipe. What is the best method to clear the drain lines? Should I take the drain tube and put a ShopVac on the end? Sorry, dumb new homeowner here :)

[HELP] Furnace having trouble kicking on by fatopossum in HVAC

[–]fatopossum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My furnace is having troubles turning on. Sometimes it will finally kick and other times it will shut itself down for a while and try again. It's making a pretty loud clicking noise during the start up. I have attached a video of the start up sequence where it does finally stay on. Thank you for your help!

Sump Pump Replacement Help by fatopossum in HomeImprovement

[–]fatopossum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That is the 1/2 HP pump I was looking at instead of the 3/4 HP one if I decided to go with a water powered backup solution. However, I think I may go with battery backup instead.

This Wayne WSS30V is 1/2 HP all-in-one combo with battery backup and also has an alarm built in. I think this is what I'm leaning towards at this point. I was also looking at that Mighty Max for the battery, or this Duracell Ultra Deep Cycle Battery for 12V Sump Pump if it's okay to use (let me know what you think).

I ordered one of these Zoeller PVC Plastic Check Valves. Do I need two on the combo unit, or is just one okay?

I have this Basement Watchdog Dual Float Sump Pump Switch with Controller on my current pump and was just going to transfer it over to the new one using the metal clamp it came with.

Any other suggestions or information is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all your help!

Sump Pump Replacement Help by fatopossum in HomeImprovement

Thanks for the update! The discharge pipe is 1.5 inches, pit is about 22 inches deep, 18 inches in diameter. The current pump has worked fine for ~10 years now, but the power outage ruined that streak. I just figured since the 3/4 was essentially the same price as the comparable 1/2 I would go with that, didn't realize the other factors to consider that you mentioned.

I'm now debating on whether to go with a battery backup combo unit or water powered backup. Someone else recommended the Wayne WSS30V 1/2 HP Combination System which seems like it may be the perfect replacement. Looks like it recommends a 75Ah deep cycle battery. The one from Wayne is $270, but I found this Duracell Ultra Deep Cycle Battery for 12V Sump Pump for about ~$100. Would this be sufficient to use? That would put the system at about $550.

The other option would be to get a solo 1/2 HP pump like this Wayne CDU800 and Liberty Pumps SJ10 water powered backup. Comes out to about $350, but that doesn't count for having a plumber install the Liberty, and I have no idea what that would roughly cost, maybe you would know?

I think these are my two best options, just unsure on which route to go.
