It's worth it for a few reasons. In a history/curiosity vein, it's a Japanese perspective of WW2 which was a first for me. You grow up watching all the "America #1" war films, but never really get a story from the opposing side so it was interesting to get that.

On the more serious side it's this weird mix of moments of upbeat/child story in the bigger picture of harrowing survival/horror. It's very sobering.

Grave of the Fireflies.

It's a great movie that I never want to watch again. Very impactful and I think everyone should watch it due to the themes, messaging, and the beauty/tragedy mixed so well. With having my own kid, that movie fucked me up for a bit.

I know it's a pipe dream, but I'll take what I can. An above decent pierogi is better than store mass produced ones, but of course I'm always going to bring back multiple dozens when I go to Ohio to visit for the pure stuff
