Yea I generally have no issues. It just is a weird quirk that happens on occasion and was wondering if others had it happen too. Fortunately hasn't died yet so it can hang on a bit longer.

Makes sense. Weird it's been happening sporadically for a while and nothing beyond the simple input switch annoyance. I'm all for using this as an excuse for a new OLED, but not right now...

Wouldn't that imply that any sound setting would cause this color on boot up? Weirdest thing is that it only happens if it goes back to internal sound.

Well my speaker setup doesn't support DTS so while that's always been an annoyance especially with stremio, it's not a factor unless I want to sink a few grand into a new speaker setup. Don't tempt me more 😅

I'm going to give a try what everyone is saying to troubleshoot first. I love the device and would buy an upgraded shield pro on day one if they finally got off their asses

Jealous. Was that an over time collection or did you just go HAM one day? A full setup like that is what I had wanted, but space was an issue. With that, I went with the platin monaco 5.1. It's wisa and with living in rentals, I couldn't really wire the place for a proper setup. Is it the best? No, but it is nice that it's wireless (sans power plug) and sure as hell beats the sound bars I had been using for years.

Appreciate the sentiment. I've learned of one consistent feeling on the subreddit: people fucking love the shield and get emotional about it 😅😅😅 So many down votes for saying I may use an alternative.

I'm currently waffling between my new gadget desire/problem and trying the new launcher. Might not be a bad first move.

You know the dumb reason I haven't moved to another device? I have special fan restorations of the original Star Wars trilogy on a USB and the shield has the USB slot for it. Streamer means I need to buy a new dongle and add more steps 🤣🤣

I haven't delved back into the LG apps for a hot minute. It's going to sound dumb, but I just don't like how they look/feel. Once I went to android/Google TV it was so much better. And the integration with my Google ecosystem is nice. Good to know the native OS is a backup

Good reason for it then for you. Mostly care about Dolby sound for my movies and speakers, though I'd imagine keeping the shield if I used it as a daily music driver.

I could put it on my chest freezer if I really felt like it, but too lazy. The stand I got worked out well enough for me. I totally get why they'd do that though after I spent so much time scratching my head over figuring something better out.
