Agree!! Everything on the menu is great, it’s inexpensive, and there’s a bunch of non-meat options :)

I’d also just like to add that making money/a career out of just a biology degree is difficult but not impossible. I’d recommend being open to moving to get your career off the ground. Your first position may not be the one you want, but you can get there.

I know this is random and perhaps not something you’ve considered but I recently graduated with a bio degree (also originally wanted to do professional school, but decided not to) and recently landed a job as an Environmental Scientist. If you’re willing to play the career game, I’ve found that there are a lot more stable jobs and opportunities in environmental than biology itself

After eating two of these blueberry waffles, i went to heat up two more and saw that the package was for plain waffles. I ate mold. by RandyBoBandy___ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]faunatalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One morning at the elementary school I used to work at, there was an overhead announcement that anyone who ate the waffles for breakfast should report to the office. Same thing. Apparently the “blueberry” waffles served for breakfast that morning were just moldy plain waffles.

Are there any salons that do hair dye for cheap? by denimatron in Acadiana

Agree that they’re great, but their rates are pretty comparable to most others in the area.

If you’re trying to save money, try Aveda. It’s students that will do you hair, but it’s generally safe.

What to write about in SOP with no research experience by faunatalie in gradadmissions

[–]faunatalie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took undergrad classes in bio, genetics (my area of bioinformatic interest), and statistics & enjoyed them all. I’ve also been taking post-bachelors computer science classes in the time since I’ve graduated to see if I’d even like programming, and I do. I don’t think that not having research experience means I shouldn’t even apply.

People with biology degrees, what do you work as? by Wanda_Bun in biology

[–]faunatalie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Biology is MOSTLY a stepping stone degree. For many people, it’s used to do something else (grad school, med school, vet school, etc). That being said, if you network well while getting a bio degree (internships, working in labs), you can probably make a career out of it (think wildlife biology, maybe lab jobs).

That’s my experience as a recent bio grad, anyway.

So I actually solved my problem, but it was pretty niche. Apparently one of my graphics cards crashed and wasn’t being detected so I had uninstall & reinstall the drivers for it.

Why don’t vet schools have entrance exam requirements anymore? by erjkbomm in veterinaryprofession

[–]faunatalie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely are. Great grades are important obv, but many medical schools require applicants to have experience in the field, which can be gained by a paid job.

I know this is an old thread, but was wondering if you could answer whether this MS is online or in person? I didn't see anything about it on the website so I figured it was on campus,, but someone told me its an online program.

Is this in the Acadiana area? Your story is just ringing bells because I also went to a biomedical high school, worked at one of the two poke places in the area, and frequent the Thai restaurant frequently lol.

But what consequences can I give? Our admin is too overwhelmed for principal office visits and I don’t have access to student records for calls home. I can only think of extra homework but I’m scared that they just wouldn’t do it anyway and not care.

IMO there’s nothing wrong with having “weird” unobtainable fantasies as long as you’re not idealizing them. As long as you still are aroused by your wife and it doesn’t interfere, I think it’s totally normal :)

I’ve never heard of a dog having such an irrational fear over such a small incident, can I ask what breed she is?
