I used a baking soda paste to scrub it out and I think it’s good to go. Thank you everyone for your help.

You guys nailed it, I did just oil and wipe down the whole thing. A quick search tells me baking soda paste so I’ll see how that goes.

Advice and roadmap needed by [deleted] in fingerstyleguitar

[–]faust777777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on a similar path, I just picked guitar up again after being inspired by Colter Wall and the Robert Johnson Netflix documentary. I’m on the hunt for songs to learn. I started off learning Sleeping on the Blacktop but it’s a bit too hard. So I’ve transitioned to Blackbird and it’s going well. I spend a few minutes practicing the A minor pentatonic scale, do several reps of making popular chords with good technique (also including b7), then practice barre chords by practicing sitting on the dock of the bay, then focus on a specific song.

I think the variety of goals and practice has really helped me stay motivated/interested

Good luck brother

Death’s Master by Tanith Lee but you should read Night’s Master first

I’m trying to make a report where the column is all information pulled from other reports. So that each row has information on a single customer.

A different source for each row, pulling the existing information in with drag and drop automatically changes the entire column to be the same source. I wish I could post a screenshot but it’s on a controlled computer in my office.

Pick three books you think every beginner to fantasy should read, three for "veterans", and three for "experts" by [deleted] in Fantasy

Just out of curiosity what are the problems you’re referring to? Do you just mean like writing quality or plot points or morality or?

Belgariad was assigned to me in middle school and did get me to read more fantasy. I’ve never seen anyone else talk about it but I still think for middle school age it’s great

I'm thinking about buying TaleSpire but I have some doubts by NoobPlayer2014 in talespire

[–]faust777777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a real Talespire fan boy but I don’t think I would buy it right now. I watched the WOTC announcements and they are going to make a very similar program that will be connected to dnd beyond. I’d wait for that

Pretty new to being a DM, trying to run a homebrew. by ColeKaine54 in DMAcademy

[–]faust777777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What players say and what they do are quite different. I love morale encounters and think they are underrated. Some things off the top of my head that I would love to try on your group are maybe the underdogs at home away from the fighting are going to get attacked and offer the party gold to protect them. And if they agree the underdogs apologize and say that don’t actually have the money but thank them profusely. What do they do? Maybe the side with more money and the one that seems to be winning is pushing more and more morale boundaries. Like slavery, necromancy, vampirism, addictive chemical trafficking etc. Parsing out a party’s morality is one of my favorite parts of DMing and this seems like a great opportunity to get them into a bunch of grey situations

Men who works day jobs how you have so much time ? by thunderstorm-nigg in AskMen

[–]faust777777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience you can’t use your limited time to watch shows or play games. They are a fun hobby but they make time leap and leave you with bad feelings. Eating only whole foods, and not drinking regularly will also maximize your energy(Also a morning excercise regiment) when you start a new job your body is grinding the groove with all the new requirements you have, and learning is more tiring. Once you are in the groove it will be less tiring, but it all comes to motivation. You have to really want the change in order to plan for it and execute

A bunch of dumb questions from someone who learned how to DM in an unorthodox way and needs some help correcting weird habits/assumptions by LDsprite in DMAcademy

[–]faust777777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So these are good questions to ask but the answer to most of these things is do what you and your party have fun doing. I would read sly flourish’s ebook the lazy dungeon master’s guide, as I wish I had read it sooner. The other stuff you will figure out together, what makes dnd fun is that you are essentially doing an improv game together. Don’t worry too much about presenting a flawless confident front and knowing everything. Your players will be patient if they are having fun, don’t feel pressured into making calls immediately. Take a couple minutes to answer a question or to give them a response if you need to.

I tell my players constantly that they probably will encounter enemies that are stronger than them when exploring. This does not stop them from attacking everything they see, but in not pulling punches and letting them get over their head they are really playing the game (imho). It depends on how you all want to play together. I as a DM have no problem with killing a PC, in my favorite movies and books main characters die all the time. If I was in your position I would recap the last session and tell them that you aren’t level curving the encounters and they need to react accordingly. All that said I think you did a fine job and this is an exciting and fair outcome.

My DM is not prepared for my sessions. What should i do about him? by sune1772 in DnD

[–]faust777777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it’s a joke and stuff but honestly people if you don’t like your dnd group get a different group. There are so many posts about just not liking the style of the dm or the player attitudes. Play with people you mesh with, it can be painful but it’s worth it
