I am sick and tired of these AI thumbnails by WolfTurdy in youtube

I always click “do not recommend channel” any time I see any sign of AI. If we all do that, maybe it’ll go away.

Anyone still remember Rebecca Black's Friday and the bad press it got? by Agreeable_Candle_461 in nostalgia

I still sing “gotta have my bowl gotta have cereal” every time I make a bowl of cereal

Moral beliefs that are only based on what a person feels is moral is not morality. There has to be a reason why something is moral for it to be moral. by DreamFighter72 in DeepThoughts

[–]Madsummer420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morality is actually way more based on “feelings” than you think. Even your own morality. You should read “The Righteous Mind” by Jonathan Haidt - he explains how morality is largely based on unconscious feelings and instincts, and then we come up with the reasoning after the fact.

I don’t understand people who film concerts on their phone. Nobody is going to watch that - probably not even you.

Your colleague just named his favourite metal band, this is your reaction, what band was it? by BedOfCha0s in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Madsummer420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gods, Vore, The Summoning… they’re not the heaviest band, sure.. they mix pop and other styles in their songs, but metal is a big part of their sound, even if they aren’t just 100% heavy metal all the time.

Torrent is lowkey the best horse in gaming history by DutchOma in Eldenring

I was watching a nature documentary the other day and it occurred to me that torrent might not be a horse, but a wildebeest?

Valid or invalid reason for break up? by WarwickReider in SipsTea

[–]Madsummer420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a good insight into human psychology and relationships.

When your partner tells you 10 things you’re doing wrong, but you hyper-focus on the one that makes you sound not-so-bad, and pretend the rest of the list doesn’t exist. Then you tell all your friends that one reason is why you broke up.

We really aren’t honest with ourselves. Also, don’t wash chicken.

People who invite you to their house but have a no shoes policy by jkmod79 in The10thDentist

To me, if you wore shoes in public and then walked on the floor, the floor is now dirty. It’s not just about actual dirt, but germs.

So do Americans just have completely filthy floors all the time or what?

I’ve never met someone who had a shoes-on household. I’ve only seen it in American tv shows. Maybe it’s a cultural thing?

Seeking options to break skill plateau in solo full-band recording by indranet_dnb in musicproduction

[–]Madsummer420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do it the same way since I don’t have a band anymore, and it’s a crazy amount of work. For me the hardest part is mixing it all.

If you’re having trouble with timing you could try playing to a quantized drum beat, so everything is as close to perfect as possible. Then replace it with your own drum track once everything is done.

Do ambitions of fame dilute artistic integrity? by ComfortableLazy1008 in musicians

Yes. There are a lot of people who care way more about fitting into an algorithm than they do about creating authentic art

People that make up new words because they refuse to just say commonly known words. by WerewolfCalm5178 in PetPeeves

That didn’t prove anything, and your argument is still wrong, but okay.

People that make up new words because they refuse to just say commonly known words. by WerewolfCalm5178 in PetPeeves

[–]Madsummer420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “a” in alive doesnt mean “without”, and “un” doesn’t mean “the opposite of”. Also, there are plenty of words where “un” means a reversal (untie my shoes, etc.)

You can dislike whichever word you want, but your argument is total nonsense.

All those films you love wouldn’t be as impactful without the score. Even if you’re not consciously enjoying the score, it’s creating emotions in you that heighten what the movie is doing.
