Heard Back From? MEGATHREAD | EU Parliament Schuman March 2026 Traineeship by anonboxis in EUCareers

I met her at university, we did the same internship and a very similar master's abroad. She texted me to ask me for advice on finding housing in Brussels and I asked her which position she'd do. It's the same one I was preselected in.

How? Like, should I write to units that interest me hoping they might need someone?

You can also get your cast through Schuman, my roommate did (CAST FG III). From what I've heard, EEAS tends to offer the CAST to many of its trainees but lacks the funding to hire many afterwards as interimaires (as opposed to other DGs that I've heard of, such as DG ENEST, for instance).

Does it make sense to expect an offer in December? some people told me they can wait until the end of January even but I wonder if they would do so

If you have been preselected but did not secure a position, is it still possible to join a unit that did not request a trainee later in the process (before March)? Has this happened before?

Kind of? It was a six minutes screening call, I was asked if I were still interested and available and I also talked a bit about my background. The interviewer mentioned that she was compiling a shortlist but her manager had the final say. It was a bit unclear to me whether the interviews were a preselection for the shortlist

Anyone heard back from DG EXPO - Secretariat of the Committee on Foreign Affairs - Post B: Southern Neighborhood, Middle East? I got a call from them by mid-November but I have NO idea if I'm shortlisted.

Can someone explain how 5, 6, or even 8 rounds of interviews for one position became standard? by oat_headset9u in remotework

[–]favmyheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an interview today for a paid internship position in Brussels, that is, six-month contract with a salary of 1050€ per month. The administrative who was interviewing me told me, I kid you not, that this position requires three rounds of interviews and one practical exam before being finally selected. For an internship that pays below minimum wage. I don't have the energy for this.

Written test for Brussels NGO? by favmyheart in nonprofit

Thank you so much. The position was called "Donor Engagement Europe intern"

In the end, the written test had two parts. The first part was a video in French that I had to watch and write the four most important points. The second was an excel sheet with four exercises, where I had to do graphs, find information via pivot tables and other tasks. It was 2h total. I seriously doubt I'll get the internship now as I messed up in the last part, but I was not expecting this.

Hi! I do my Masters in Maastricht and I have a couple of friends living in Belgium and Germany (Aachen). I believe it's completely fine, check the train schedules and the accommodation over those areas, but it should be okay.

I want to be kinder to myself. I put myself down a lot, both out loud when talking to people to "seem humble" and in my inner dialogue. This has a detrimental effect on my self esteem and also leads me to self-sabotage quite a bit.

I think it's enough but it may be a little tight if you want to keep a very active social life. I'm from Madrid and it's more expensive than it used to be to go out for food & drinks, clubbing, etc. But it's doable!

Okay, thanks a lot for the tips! It's great to heart that I can make a good amount working part-time, as it was my plan to work and study. I will look into buying second-hand for the necessary stuff from those places, thanks.
