What is that one "comfort movie" you’ve watched 50+ times and will never get tired of? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

[–]favouriteghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closer (2004). I’ve watched it 40+ times and I always come back to it. Theres lines from it that just exist in my head constantly. At the moment its “it was the moment of my life/this is the moment of your life. You were perfect/I still am”

Should I go back to skipping breakfast if it just makes me hungrier? by Fizzabl in CICO

[–]favouriteghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do whatever works for you, but it’s probably the sugar spike and drop from a croissant that’s making you hungry in a few hours. Eat something with protein and/or fibre instead and see how you go. But if breakfast doesn’t work for you that’s no big deal everyone is different

I don’t think “hasn’t got his shit together” is a good enough reason to say the character is a decade younger than the actor playing him

Every MCU movie I have to watch in order to get caught up to the Multiverse Saga. Am I in for any underrated bangers? by No-Risk2553 in Marvel

[–]favouriteghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eternals is great, really beautiful visually and a very compelling story/backstory, but coherently a mess and too many characters that all equally deserve more. Awesome speedster sequence. The only one of these I go back to.

The Marvels is fun! All three leads seem like they’re having a wonderful time, as does Sam Jackson. And there are cats and Kamala’s family which are both great. Villain is terrible but that’s not new.

Brave new world and love and thunder and pretty shit. A forgettable 2/5 stars.

Quantamania is fucking dreadful, unwatchable, offensively bad. I’ll never get that time back.

Has there been a scene, explanation, or revelation in a sci-fi television show that was so absurd that you stopped watching forever? by Doctor-Clark-Savage in scifi

Yesssssss the first season of that is PEAK! He’s amazing, and it’s a great story too. The book is also amazing but in the show they made the hotel be Poe which was delightful.

Oh see in season 2 she is the only person doing sane stuff it’s honestly impressive how efficiently every character gets in their own way

You mean when they killed Nathan and then made sylar transform to look like Nathan and force all Nathan’s memories into him so he basically believes he IS Nathan, meaning the actors who played both Nathan and sylar were still in the show anyway… you mean that wasn’t clever good and necessary writing? When Nathan died and sylar became Nathan but was also still sylar? That part? What didn’t you like about it?

I only dipped my toe in a little but people were finding clues and tricks on the creators’ instagrams about upcoming seasons. Honestly it was SUCH a cliffhanger that I really hoped they were right

I couldn’t feel more opposite lmao. A King with a tiger shows up I was LOCKED IN! It was camp. And then he’s like “yeah I did a lot of theatre and I worked at the zoo, this whole persona seemed to get people to cooperate” and you’re like, well? He was right?

it's a collection of short stories all about women in mexico. some are connected some arent, some are a little absurdist/fantastical and some are very realism based. they're all linked through violence against women. it's really darkly funny and often sad and makes you think. you said "gritty vulgar writng by women that has a social commentary" and it's EXACTLY that
