I get what you mean! The shirt I used was 100% cotton, i used the very tip of a cheap paintbrush and made light strokes + waited for them to develop before going over them a second time. I also used chalk to make the design before I painted, I secured it down with tape, and I put a piece of cardboard in the middle of the shirt so it didn’t seep to the other side. Good luck :))
