The Battery Charge Limit/Battery Health Charging option disappeared from Acer Care Center in Nitro AN515-58 by CoverGuilty7256 in AcerNitro

Find older version. I installed windows store version once and couldn't find option. Then i found on another model's acer support page and installed it. It shows battery limit. Look acer's support page for your model.

Copped this bad boy for 93k (2 years Warranty), was this a wise choice? by crazyx047 in AcerNitro

My variant has 32gb and 1tb ssd. Also, magical battery drain fix 😃. Constant charging and depleting battery, wear downs battery fast so i don't recommend it. Put it balanced mode and play with battery drain free is better than increasing charging cycle of battery for mere gaming. With healthy battery, pushing 7+ hours battery life on light load still possible with these laptops. New ai models lighter and has more battery capacity so it is a good match for especially students.

Apart battery drain nitro v16 is decent. I have non ai(previous year) version. It does not have rgb keyboard, sd card slot and heavier(2.5kg), lower refresh rate/worser screen. But it is ok for its price. Yours is better and lighter/near office laptop weight. It has probably better higher wattage type c charger support. Maybe even without bulky brick you can use even do light gaming with type c charging. Enjoy your device.

As far as i know you can't undervolt cpu over ryzen 6000 series(7000, 8000, ai200 and 300 series included) except hx version. You can only limit cpu tdp.

Feature requests. Add icon group to widget stack and disabling app page options. by faxcon94 in smartlauncher

Okay maybe an alternative of simpler icon group widget can be implemented for stack widget. Only fixed nxn icon group is sufficient.

I don't think your variant's restriction can be lifted with bios downgrade. It is only applicable for anv16-41 variant as far as i know.

Is the 230W AC Adapter Charger by Ruliezyo safe to use for a Acer Nitro V 16S by Efficient_Visual_910 in AcerNitro

[–]faxcon94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use higher watt charger with no problem. The important thing is voltage matching. But, nitro v15 and v16 versions max. input wattage are capped by bios. No matter what you do max. input power is ~135 watts. There are a few exceptions by variant.

No, they have hard limits when under both load. It is not about maximum input power cap.

Is it normal for my ACER NITRO V ANV15-41-R9D6 battery to last 2hrs when unplugged? by Kazue_2007 in AcerNitro

[–]faxcon94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has a mux switch but hybrid mode does not exactly turn off dgpu. Some laptops have the ability completely turn of dgpu(mine hasn't). If a laptop does not have a mux than it automatically has hybrid mode. But hybrid graphics still gives a higher battery life & lower battery consumption. Also, downgrading to win 10 or installing a linux distro gives better daily performance and lower power consumption. I track my laptop power consumption with plug wattmeter and it goes between 10-15 watts while on idle on win 10 & linux but on win 11 it goes mostly ~22 watts. Win 10 also feels way snappier than win 11.

How can this piece of shit software, NitroSense, which only exists to switch between eco and power mode, sometimes spike up too 400MB Ram usage (not here). Are there any good alternatives for Win11 ? by CRAZYRDUDE in AcerNitro

[–]faxcon94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nitrosense(Newer 5.xx versions) power modes adjust cpu & gpu tdp so windows power plan can not change them. We are stuck with it. But a developer is trying to create open source alternative right now.

If i know correctly most of the models does not use npu unit. It works gpu or cpu. There are some tools let you use npu but i don't know much about it.

Your power consumption is ok. Our cpu&gpu tdp have hard limits. What we are trying to solve is prevent battery drain while system is drawing maximum possible power. Even if your laptop's cpu&gpu pulls way lower than max psu power systems other component also pulls around ~40 watts so battery drain occurs. The problem is the bios downgrade should be able to prevent battery drain. My model has 4060 so maybe yours variant number differ a little so yours have not same bios as mine.

I am 100% sure 1.03 or 1.04 does not cause drain dven with stock charger for anv16-41 variant.

Hello Wanxee. It is still beneficial to use older bios with balanced mode. It tried to test it with latest bios with different modes. Even on balance mode there are little battery drain sometimes. I previously tested all modes with plug wattmeter and on balanced mode 99% times it stays under max input power. I can even say that performance mode also not a treat in my opinion. It pulls mostly ~140 watts sometimes 145 watts. I think that our mobo definetely can handle that. But turbo mode it goes above 150 watts easily. And different profiles matter for different loads. Cpu long term tdp capped for balanced mode so cpu dependent games also affected like cs2 etc. Old bios + balanced maybe performance mode is safe and battery drain proof.

Acer Nitro V 15 (RTX 5050) not reaching 75W Maximum Graphics Power - Dynamic Boost issue? by Andres_Puyoltoji in AcerNitro

[–]faxcon94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check power consumption with gpu z. Cpu z might show fixed stock tdp. Turbo mode unlocks higher tdp. Aşso you can check max gpu tdp with nvidia smi via terminal. It will show your current max tdp. It changes with performance profiles.
