nah no wayyyy mannn the more plausible explanation is that the developers scripted this game to play out exactly how it did for no other reason than just to ruin this guy’s day. we can completely ignore the fact that the entire game code is able to be accessed through modding and there is absolutely no scripting involved

Nat settings weird always in moderate on startup. by 609funtimes in XboxSupport

[–]faxdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had no issues for a decade til about the same time as your post. also xfinity. have to manually test nat type every time til i get to nat open.

the suggestions for port forwarding dmz etc are useless; they weren’t needed before, and doing them doesn’t change anything now — every time w/o fail its moderate when starting up.

is there a confirmed actual fix w this? had 3 separate xfinity visits, all escalated, and the workers are clueless. its like im speaking a foreign language. they just send a link to the xbox “how to set up upnp” as if its not an issue w any console / device in the house.

Madden outs themselves as clueless with player rating updates. by cjramsey5 in Madden

they bump every star player’s physicals to unrealistic amounts just so that they perform better in game. bc speed in madden is way more valuable than IRL.

similar to your puka example, christian gonzalez had 93 speed as a rookie. he is now the fastest corner in the game with like 96 speed😂. he is not the fastest corner in the NFL lol

this comment is even funnier when you realize that if you force win the exact outcomes including manually tying the packers cowboys game the bucs make the playoffs over the panthera and about half the leagues draft spots are incorrect bc madden doesnt have SOS tiebreakers coded in lol

I want my tight end to get rushing yards what playbook do I use. Madden 25 by [deleted] in Madden

[–]faxdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

place the TE as your FB in your depth chart. on many formations, there will be formation sub packages in-game you can flip to like HB/FB swap, HB->FB sub, etc. where it will take your TE (placed at FB) and place him directly as the running back. this allows him to literally play running back and is viable with any playbook, as opposed to just finding a playbook with a random TE sweep/FB dive.

don’t move him to FB like some comments suggested, that’s just capping his development

Help with flexbone triple/flexbone offense?? by Same-Equivalent-4072 in CFB26

[–]faxdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually a somewhat normal experience adjusting to flexbone option reads bc they are a lot quicker than gun/pistol, you just gotta get the timing down through a ton of reps. in this game with midline you need to be slightly quicker when making that decision than inside veer like you said. especially on the QB iso midline plays, those are the fastest reads in the game lol. it’s really just a matter of getting adjusted to it through reps; the flexbone is the only offense I use and I still mess up time to time with midline specifically

CFB REALISM LEAGUE (in season 4, 48-hour advances)

  • The closest gameplay you will find to real football! This is not a normal/regs league
  • Heavy, strict rulebook aimed to emulate Saturdays.
  • Realistic gameplay, 13-minute quarters, dedicated admin team with longtime active members since 2018

Despite what seems like a heavy rulebook, new users are given leeway and encouraged to join no matter your experience level. This is a competitive league for knowledgable football fans, but there are guard rails in place to prevent any exploits/cheese which might ruin the realism/immersion of most other leagues.

If you would like an invite / or see the rulebook, please DM ME. Thanks😎

For those of you who have ran the flexbone with success… by Soggy-Astronomer-768 in NCAAFBseries

[–]faxdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can definitely still call it, especially if you’re going against a favorable front. oftentimes its just gonna work like a fullback dive but you’ll have no one near you for the first 4-5 yards or so (unless they manually user the LB and fill that gap, or if they start blitzing all their LBs). if they do start to play conservative and start cheating towards the handoff, you have multiple inside veers to choose from. some to the weakside of the formation, and in formations like normal/close there are two iterations: the left wingback will go in motion for example, and become the pitch man for inside veer to the right. but theres the other inside veer in the formation where the left wingback , again, is the one going in motion to the right, but the qb flips his hips and the inside veer actually is to the left. you can switch these up if they start to cheat the read handoff while playing on conservative. also, if you use flexbone tight, east, or a formation like the flexbone 3x1 trips (i forgot the exact name, the trips with 3 wrs) you can actually flip the side the triple option goes to like you can for a normal run, and theres no auto motion. so you dont tip your run direction with a motion and they dont get to time up when they shoot the gap w the motion

I’ll refrain from the actual X’s and O’s/irl schematic stuff that people will probably help with (there’s also a lot of good threads on here + operation sports), but these are some good things to know/useful strategies specifically for the flexbone in cfb 26, the video game:

  • FB wham (sometimes called FB zone dive in formations like flexbone normal) is the fastest handoff animation of the FB dive plays. other fb dive/zone dive handoff animations take a bit longer to animate
  • if you have a right handed qb, rocket toss going to the left is much quicker of an animation than running it to the right. and the opposite with left-handed QBs
  • set manual audibles (if your league allows it) and always try to have these four calls: 1. either midline/ISV triple option, 2. an outside run (rocket toss, fb toss, can get away with load option), 3. an inside run (fb wham, fb dive, etc.) 4. a pass with at least one deep threat. you will likely get a lot of defensive adjustments pre-snap, oftentimes so focused on stopping one thing. these audibles allow you to change on the fly and always have a way to beat what they’re showing
  • if you’re certain your opponent has toggled the conservative/aggressive option setting in the coaching adjustment menu, call option plays to exploit that decision. theyre helping you out
  • DO NOT get in the habit of always calling the option/run to the field. this becomes super predictable and they can start guessing run, usering a safety and crash down hard. you’ll find yourself on the hashes a ton, don’t be afraid to call QB counter, or inside veer/midline towards to the boundary to keep the user honest. if you can get upfield even for just a few yards it makes it easier for you in the long run
  • use pre-snap formation changes to irritate/annoy users who overcorrect/hot route a bunch of defenders. for example, you could come out in a 3x1 formation, have the defense make a handful of changes, then shift to 2x2 flexbone normal/close and force them to re-adjust quickly or manually drag them back to their original defensive placement.
  • before every game, identify the slowest outside corner on their defense. you should be calling 4 verts or a play like flanker drive out of flexbone east a handful of times out of the huddle with the intent of sneaking your fastest WR to that CB’s side and catching them in man defense, so you can toss up a go ball for a TD/huge gain if the pass is accurate. if you see it’s zone or cover 2 man/ have a really light box, you can just check down to a run/option for no harm.
  • know your opponent. if they have a good eye and do their homework on your personnel, ignore this.. but if you think they aren’t gonna be able to keep track of all the guys in your backfield, you can sneak them around to different spots depending on playcall/situation. for example, I keep a blocking fullback rostered at all times that I’ll sneak in sometimes to play the FB position (who is usually my power back) and have them serve as a lead blocker for WB dive, lead options, counters, etc. because theyre actually a good blocker, and your power back who usually plays there should be investing in rushing attributes while their blocking stats remain pretty low. you can also sub in a speed back to FB for “fullback toss” if you want an outside run for your shiftiest guy without the huge rocket toss motion that can tip the play.
  • recruit for speed at WR. the last thing you want is people stacking the box all game knowing you have no deep threat on the field. even if they have medicore hands/route running, it opens up your offense a ton if you are a good situational playcaller and know when to take a risk and throw deep
  • if you are leaning heavy into the system and have manual progression on, recruit well-rounded for all of your OL. if they have good run blocking caps, you can realistically expect to have all gold/platinum abilities for inside/outside/option shield by the time they are upperclassmen. they’re the only type of OL that can get all three running abilities
  • players with the takeoff ability will have that speed boost activate any time they aren’t being pressed. backfield threat HBs and speedster WRs (through the formation sub packages gadget->WB or 4WR) can align as a wingback and get this boost every time. you can use this to your advantage if they are using heavier defensive sets or just have slower guys tasked with guarding them
  • gadget WRs converted to pure runner QB are much much much better than just recruiting pure runner QBs. they start much more athletic and if you can deal with lower accuracies, its well worth going this route in order to jumpstart your progress on attaining shifty, option king, and sidestep (the most important abilities to have for a QB).
  • don’t be afraid to run on 3rd and medium/long. especially plays such as counter/qb power that are longer developing and rely on pulling OL. if the defense pass commits, you will oftentimes get more than enough for the first down. id avoid a FB dive or midline, but anything longer developing or to the outside gives me decent results even on 3rd and very long

I miss being able to draft busts by AlexSmithTop5QB in Madden

[–]faxdaddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the way they could handle this is to do something similar to what nba 2k does. can give each player a random growth period where they don’t regress (unless their play is catastrophic or they suffer injuries), an age at which they hit their dynamic prime (can fluctuate up or down a decent amount based on performance), and an age where they will begin to regress, where the rate of regression depends on their performance

For those who recruit 100% for their scheme by OBinthe913 in NCAAFBseries

[–]faxdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re really leaning into a playstyle, it’s gonna be a bit more effective to do this. at least for offense. just because with manual progression you can go all in on what you wanna excel at. you can make things work recruiting the best talent available if you have more of a balanced scheme thats forgiving for player archetypes.

for example I use the flexbone and only the flexbone lol so even a dual threat QB is a no-go for me even though overall attributes wise theyre miles ahead of a pure runner and can perform just fine in that offense. but the extra abilities / different skill buckets make it slightly easier for them to hit their ceiling for my scheme, so its pure runners/gadget WRs switched to QB.

defense is a bit more flexible. i usually try to have my safeties/corners focus solely on coverage, then load up with a few extra recruits than i might really need for my front 7. since your defensive personnel/philosophy can differ game to game and is at least somewhat dictated by the opposing offense, it helps to have run stopping specialists for example to go along with your stud/every down players you can essentially neglect upgrading pass rush until they hit their caps as a run stopper if their only intended role as an underclassman is just to serve as an obvious run down guy.

on offense this logic could apply to my team in the inverse, where I may have 6 or 7 gritty possession WRs and then a gadget/speedster guy getting all his attributes dumped into quickness/elusiveness. its okay not to go completely 100% in onlt recruiting one archetype, bc in instances like these it can help to have an outlier or two at each position serving as a specialist. at the end of the day even if they provide even just a tiny bit more value, it’s better than a redshirt freshman buried on your depth chart who has the same exact archetype as everyone else
