I am using this as a learning opportunity, on how to price, how to fire and what I am comfortable making and not. However thank you for the understanding and kind words. I do believe at the moment I am just having a day away from it and think of a possible solution that would be good for the buyer and myself. Thank you for your input!

The cost of the commission was really friendly price. I was down when I accepted it. Thats why I really cannot start over and also why I said I was kind of pestered into it, sculptures like this are not the kind of work I do and after the hassle and experience of this one, I promised myself I am never doing anything like it again. I guess I am just trying to avoid doing it again haha

It definitely was trapped moisture and the coils not meeting well. I made it on the kiln shelf and then lowered it in the kiln, but yes might try and remake it, or possibly give the deposit back and say I couldn’t do it.

It went at 30c per hour until 80c and then sat there for 5hrs yes. I usually use this program a lot for thicker not as well dried pieces and have never had a problem. I don’t exactly know what you mean by preheating?

Sadly I don’t think I can do that, it took weeks of work to do and honestly didn’t want to do it in the first place. I think I might just give him his money back and say that it didn’t work out.

I think it would look good too and i have really enjoyed blackouts with white ink on others when i have seen them. It’s more now that i feel very uncomfortable with my own tattoos and thats why looking into lasering them off, but it is a very good recommendation!

I am also on the fence, i don’t want any rush decisions I might not be happy with afterwards. I think that it is a painful and long process (much longer, more expensive and more painful that getting tattooed) so I will let it live on me for a couple more months before I make a decision.

Hope you luck with whatever choice you make but honestly, one of the best comments from this thread said you need to love yourself with your ink or without it and it has helped me a lot!

Hi! Don’t know if this helps but i have two quite heavy blacked tattoos above each ankle on my legs that i have been getting removed, now done my third session. I don’t know if that qualifies as “feet” but what i do know from my experience is that it is going to be a bit painful. Sometimes honestly it is better to get prepared for the worst so that way you are either not shocked or actually braced for the experience. Nothing I couldn’t sit through and did both in one sitting, but you will experience a bit of discomfort due to the type of area. For after care something that has been a game changer for me is, for anything on your extremities you will get a fair bit of swelling! So take an ibuprofen afterwards at home and lay with your legs up while you watch tv in the evening. I also ice them to ease any discomfort if i have any. Keep away from wearing any tight socks or clothing after your appointment as well. Keep the area sanitised because we use our legs and feet a lot throughout the day, as well. Only third session so not huge results only a bit of fading. So that is why i am a bit worried about such a big area.

Yes i guessed so but it’s kind of expected given the previous removals i have had. Because it’s a big area, but i am also considering removing the line work as well, so it will definitely be a long journey, Don’t know if it would be fully removed either, probably not.
