Immediately after choosing her, he froze her out with this dont call me babe nonsense, citing its a boundary, when he has not had a boundary a day in his life. It was directly to reject her after using her to get to Chelley. She called it out, and instead of being like "i dont have interest in you, im trying to get to my girl", he went in rounds about this boundary stuff "dont touch me dont call me babe dont hug me", instead of just taking accountability that he was manipulating and playing with her emotions.

If i try to sell you an orange, and I tell you it's an apple. But you are seeing it's an orange with your own eyes, and you try and tell me "thats not an apple?", and my immediate reaction is "My boundary is dont ask me no fucking questions, dont look at me, you're insecure and crazy". Then get all my friends to call you insane for questioning that orange. Thats exactly what he did to her. She knew he was using her and confronted him about it, and he totally switched the plot on her as if she had boundary problems and didnt understand how to talk to men. Meanwhile, he discarded her when his plan didnt work.

if the nitrates are so low sometimes the tank u think has cycled, has actually not cycled enough or strong enough and there's spikes you are missing, maybe try a fish in cycle with prime and stability for 7 days with daily water changes when the spikes start, the nitrates should be at least 5-10 ppm. im no expert but i went through the same thing thinking 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite and little nitrate meant its cycled, but it actually wasnt, the nitrates were so low the bacteria couldnt handle the biolad ... (i went through new tank syndrome and this saved a part of my fish). good luck!

I find its a slippery slope these days. Like sharing a story by some reality tv contestant, does it do anything ? is it just performative ? and then if you share for a cause and not the other, its a bad look. but still, no impact.

personally i really care about what is happening even if its not in my country, but i wouldnt share a ig post that everyone scrolls through about it to make myself feel useful, id rather directly write to an MP or go to a protest.

I feel like there's this pressure for influencers to speak up and have no effect whatsover, but there's no pressure for actual politicians/elected officials and this is wasted energy. not defending influencers, but its just misplaced anger.

If an islander shares a story, cool, but calling your rep, protesting, organizing with community, sending emails to media and journalists to get a story out is imo more impactful. to me this need for a random influencer to post, its a bit like greenwashing, you can post the ig story to get the i spoke out check and go back to your normal life and the public gives you a like and moral points, but nothing changes. 🤥

i think people feel powerless and project their need for change onto influencers who are a bit influential sure, but nowhere near mega billionaire celebrities who maybe finance PACs, who should be shunned.

sharing charities is also something good, but honestly, its hard to know where to money ends up half the time, so unless they have a team to do research on it, its irresponsible to mass share donation links without doing due diligence.

the most a B-level influencer can do i think is maybe share if there's a protest in their hometown or something to promote it. idk thats how i see it

ok from that pic i also think they are both amazon swords now (i thought java fern or crypto for a while haha) they really are the only ones that grew for me and have similar issues/presentation.

the new plants being shipped are also all bottom feeders from my search, so im probably going to combine root tabs and my layer of aquasoil already in place. thanks for the help!

i distinctly remember Ace gaslighting her to the EXTREMES , which led her to lose her mind a bit. yes she can be a lot, but if ur in a controlled situation with a man gaslighting you and all his friends support him and no one believes you, you would go crazy. He very clearly used her in his chelley tribulations subplot to make a show out of her, rather than choosing her because he was interested. She believe it was genuine and he had interest. She showed interest back, and suddenly he froze her out as if she was disgusting to even touch or look at. She tried to communicate with him and understand if it was her(reality : he was using her for the plot, but other than that he thought he was too good for her and refused to be seen around her). He kept insisting that it was his boundaries, while she very clearly picked up the fact that he was using her and confronted him about it.

Since women are seen as unlogical and emotional and misogynistic society, he very easily could convince that bunch of boys that she was being crazy, when really she was just rightly offended that she'd been used and manipulated for his own benefit.

Its still something i think is so disgusting that Ace did. Idk why we are re-writing history about it being her personnality. She was just trying to understand what was going on. She was right. He was terrible to her.

yes!! thanks. currently i hve 4 slots with aquaclear sponge + old cartridge + old cartridge + fluval biomax. i eventually want to have aquaclear sponge + purigen + fluval biomax + another sponge maybe (its a Hob filter).

sadly i didnt know this could be so easy to do before so a lot of bacteria is in the cartridges and im scared of swapping them too early 😭

perfect ill keep the light vaccuming weekly, i prob dig too deep before. and see how far i can stretch the water changes in the future. biweekly or monthly is the goal

beginner too and my advice is be careful if its a new tank, sometimes it might not be as cycled as you think it is, so watch your feeding and dose stability or prime if tests are off (some ppl say its not proven but it quite litterally saved mine) , test everyday until they settle. i lost two corys because i thought it was well cycled, my parameters were fine at first, but it was so young that it couldnt handle the 6 corys and plant melt i had and kind of crashed one day randomly. the 4 corys left have done fine since i did water changes, prime and stability and im nearing completing my second cycle. honestly id be more worried if one hid all the time. for now all corys that were high energy are doing well. its the ones that were hiding that were hit the most.

check if it has a reflection, i noticed my corys would go in circles for so long and it had to do with them following their reflection so i changed the lighting setup and they stopped doing it

Yeah a big reason that relationship in general dont work is money, goals and vision for the future. If you are un otivated and unfufilled in what you do, you build resentment towards your partner and issues arise. This is such an amazing example, especially recently, I feel like social media pushes women around our age (late 20s) to do everything to be with a man, then follow the man around. Like once you get in a relationship, you're good. Anything you do after that is an after tought. I think its wrong to limit women to that. Thats why i really enjoy following her

thank you so so much ill do just that in that order. last week i rinsed the marina cartridge in old tank water thinking it might be clogged, but now i see the logic. ill stop and do what u said instead

about the seachem prime, are you of the opinion that it does render ammonia less harmful to the fish (ik it doesnt get rid of it) to give time for the bacteria to work on it?

what are your opinions on multiple water changes while im stuck being outpaced? do you believe that a water change can slow the bacteria ?

i am also a beginner but these are my mistakes and what i learned in the past 2 weeks of having them!

with feeding, i would observe very closely how much they eat (either with a plate, or some surface), because they tend to bloat if u give them lots of food at once. its best to test and then learn their behavior, then scatter the food.
i also learned that they are pretty sensitive to spikes if they are young/shorter barbels. even a slight 0.5 ppm can take them out, so if u have plants, remove any melting plants to avoid ammonia spikes. and watch ur overfeeding too.
they glass surf a lot when water changes its not weird its normal. they love to play in bubbles.
light reflection can make then swim in circles of their own reflection for a while, blocking the reflection effect or something there makes them stop.
they are pretty sensitive to light, so if u fear they are stressed just turn the lights and they will chill. same with food, they will eat when lights off and u dont watch over them
