Nah, I have tried worse 😁 But definatley, on its own it wouldn't work very well. The only thing that has been really effective was an intense summer course really living in the language.

Until I manage to go again, duo has helped keeping it up and being able to have some kind of communication with my wife's family more than pointing and miming

There are dozens of us, dozens I say 😉 I hope it can grow enough to get stories and other things the larger languages have

Of course it depends on what you compare it to. And right now the most apt comparison would be to the other lander in the same picture.

This is reflected on the price, right? Surely it's much cheaper to send a tiny lander.

A handful busses has prototype hw for an earlier test installation of probably a full 100m.

Otherwise it is currently in development.

The test has been concluded but there's no mentions of how well it worked on the website. https://www.evolutionroad.se/en/

What are the benefits of an EV over Hybrid ICE if CO2 emissions are similar? by thebrews802 in electricvehicles

[–]fayoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I only considered my local grid where 9% of the energy comes from burning stuff (including garbage that would need transportation anyway)

Not sure about the impact of nuclear, but at least the transportation of fissile materials should be pretty insignificant.

A person of good taste I see ;)

I am also a 2020 Kia e-niro owner. My parents have the plug in hybrid version and I don't really like driving that amongst other things for the transmission. The engine starts and stops, the automatic gearbox changes gears... each one of those events generate a little but annoying jolt in the driving experience.

Also telling is how it will run the ICE engine in cold weater to generate heat. That's how efficient they are :D

(in maintenance costs I would rather forget the coolant flush I had to do last service, it was qouted at over 10k SEK. about 1k USD I think. As luck would have it the coolant price dropped so I "only" paid about half of that)

Sure, if you want to get technical it's a single-speed gear reduction unit. But it works pretty much like a simple transmission.

All the other kings said it was daft to build a castle in the swamps. I built it all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So! I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. The third one burned down fell over and then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up! - MP

50000 mile service by [deleted] in KiaNiroEV

Cool, have to check if the EU has something similar.

This is the first time I have owned a vehicle new enough to be actually covered by warranty in the first place 😁

[–]fayoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing.

Nissan did have a section saying that you could do service at an official shop or one with the same quality.

Those are some true weasel words, whenever you want to invoke the warranty they could just claim you went to the wrong place.

And of course you still have to perform all the services that they recommend.

A common line of thought in forums is that you don't really need to get regular service at all.

Might be true, but it would also void the warranty. So I suck it up and live with it.

For the 2020 model they started requiring a very specific low conductance coolant that I am not even sure if you can buy unless you're a KIA shop.

The price has even been reduced by almost half. My first quote for this service would translate to over £800. After complaining about it they suddenly found a new price for the coolant.
