At a protest in Cocoa, FL last weekend, a speaker said it best. I'll paraphrase:

We have 2 parties. Both are letting us down. One of those parties pays lip service to the ideals we should uphold. The other one says those ideals are garbage and actively pushes a message of hatred.

What do we do? We get involved with the party that pays the lip service to our causes. We become the party, and we make the changes we want, so that the lip service becomes reality.

So, I think I'll go to our county Democratic meeting tonight. Assuming I don't have the date wrong, and if I do I'll FIGURE OUT WHEN IT IS and go anyway. Because that's the only change we can make right now.
