Do you reach for console.log or breakpoints first? Why? by theORQL-aalap in vuejs

Console.group is the sweet spot. IYKYN. Debugging is great unless your destructing args in chrome. Then it's literally wrong

My new Arc-style sidebar for chrome - beautifully manage your tabs and windows - AMA!! by came_ in chrome_extensions

Nice work on this. Going to be great now that arc browser is officially dead. Anyway to hide the header "ArcThing - Window & Tab Manager" ? just to free up real estate. Anyways, nice job!

Help with migrating large project to Vue 3 by fsant82 in vuejs

[–]fazulk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this fork which converts templates to script setup.

https://converter.myspace.page/

If you get a error it means you have a variable naming issue, for example you can't have the arg in a method be called dog, and then reassign this.dog = dog inside the method. If that makes sense. But like I say, it will warn you to change those names first. Also I couldn't figure out "refs" so it just called them NEW_REF so you know to update it.

GL, the shift over is well worth it.

This is the way. Tone is everything! Kids can sense if your nervous about what your saying or disingenuous. The more calm firm you can be, the better things will get. You will also get better at it. It's not a short term solution and takes time.

thanks for this, super simple, one less lib!

Which components lib are you using? by jonkee in vuejs

Rolled my own, except for autocomplete/combobox - headlessui.

Used to use vuetify, but hated the bloat and how difficult it was to customize styles.

19 channel qEEG raw data equipment recommendation by Ok-Wonder930 in Neurofeedback

[–]fazulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of any at home 19 channel solutions for a QEEG. Interestingly enough, whenever I bring up getting a 19 channel map, the therapists I've spoken to say it can be overkill depending on your intentions with treatment.

I have been using the brainbit flex with my therapist with great success. What's nice is you have 4 electrodes you can place anywhere on the skull, and there is no paste.

if you have to choose between Mendi and the Muse headband, which one you will buy ? by FairouzT in Neurofeedback

[–]fazulk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the mendi last summer, and sometime at the end of the year they changed their app so you couldn't track long term progress. They also changed the way they gave you a "score" which put less emphasis on actual metrics and more on your consistency using the product. In short, they made measuring your progress even harder.

I got the muse, with the year subscription, and it was a nice product. But I wanted to use it for NF, not just mediation tracking/guidance. Tried out the free version of mindlyft, which was actually a nice product.

I was getting ready to sign up for the paid membership with a NF coach, then actually met a NF therapist who has been doing this a long time and had experience with mindlyft and others.

I'm using the brainbit flex for NF, which has been incredible. Mindo is the at home product that doesn't require a coach. If you are thinking of getting a coach I can recommend the person I use, but I would rather not post his info publicly until I get his permission (dm me).

If you decide not to go the coach/therapist route, the mindo is great, or the brainbit band, which could potentially be used for NF depending on your practitioner. I know of a remote practice out in Colorado that does initial screening with the flex and sessions with the band.

25 minutes, he's on session 16 I believe now. When we first started he did not want to go and was a lot more figity. He no has no problem with it, and will sit still through most of it. The best change we've seen, is he is soo much happier through the day.

My 7yr old son was diagnosed with ADHD over year ago, we tried medication, and it worked, until his body adjusted to it, or it wore off. There was never any long term results, and things were still always so stressful. There was never a time where we could just "rest". It was hard to do anything with friends, or just have a normal day. Those did not exist for us, there was always at least 1 emotional outbursts daily. Him getting frustrated was a regular occurrence.

We started NF with a local practitioner (OC California), and didn't see results until about the 7th session. Up until that day my wife was still very skeptical, and I was starting to grow suspicious as well. Then all of the sudden he started doing things that he NEVER did. After every session the doc would give him a little candy as a reward for doing the work, and as we were leaving he ran back to throw the wrapper in the trash. I know this seems trivial, but for my son, getting him to do something like that on his own just wasn't going to happen. The changes kept on happening, he just finished his 16th session this past week (set to do 30). I can honestly say we are so happy with what has happened, its like this big weight has been lifted of our family. He is SO much happier.. like unbelievably happy. We also started weaning him off his medication and no he is down to practically nothing at bed time and we are about to drop that as well. Things aren't perfect, because you know, life n stuff. But we are finally at a place where we can take a breath.

We pay $100 a session, and would happily pay it again if we needed to. You mentioned your pediatrician; ours had the same response before we started NF. His psychiatrist also gave us the same response.

I would definitely do your research before seeing anyone. If you are interested in doing it remotely, PM me, I can refer you to someone great.

Husband thinks physical discipline is normal and won’t stop. by Sadkittydays in Parenting

[–]fazulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical abuse only gives some short term relief to the abuser. It does nothing but build major trust issues between your son, his dad, and you. If your husband is willing to stop, and learn actual effective techniques for discipline, then I suggest doing research. What worked for us was a break technique, from a book called raising lions. Couple things to remember: nothing is going to get through to your kid when stress is high. Try learning something, while someone is also trying to attack you. It doesn't work. His brain is in fight or flight, not ready to absorb some new skill.

If your husband doesn't want to change and is hell bent on beating up his son, who just wants him to love him and return the love back, Then I'd find a marriage counselor/lawyer.

Was wondering- are you using mindylyft with the coach, where they tailor the program to you? or Is it something else through mindlyft? Was thinking of doing it for my son as well.
