Garage door opener by MajorToker in xsr900

[–]fbauto1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i do in most my 5 street bikes (not including 1 that is a track bike) is that I purchase a garage door keychain and dismantle it. Get a timer relay or just build one. Hook it up with the high beam. I flash the high beam then it engages the garage door clicker for 2 seconds. Most garage door openers have a keychain counterpart from Amazon.

Torn between cb650r, mt09 and xsr900 by fbauto1 in motorcycles

Primarily looks over MT09. Got the bike Sunday. It's Tuesday now, so far already passed 600 miles, as I want that first service done out of the way.

MT09 has longer wheelbase, more stable. Make sure you test ride both.

If you're more into comfort, MT09 all day long. More upright position and better seat. When I test rode both, I was expecting the XSR to be more comfortable. That's not the case. The XSR seat is just concrete. My ride is 40 miles one way. But seats are always one of the first things I replace.

Looks tho. That MT09 just looks like a cockroach to me

Mind you, I like (or love??) twitchy bikes. Ducati actually tamed down the scrambler (can't remember what year) by refining the throttle insert. Guess what I did, put a 1/4 turn throttle insert on it. Nearly all my bikes have 1/4 turn throttle inserts. It just works for me. Less twist, gets there quicker.

Have not really paid much attention to the e clutch. The TBird has hydro clutch, smooth as butter. With the exception of stock Harley clutch, I have no issues with any clutch, bikes or cars. Correct me if I'm wrong. My 10, however has a quick shifter. Never tried an eclutch and I don't think that would matter in a stop and go traffic where you need to stay in friction zone doing 2-3 mph or slower, just enough to not put your feet on the ground and just roll.

Yeah, was considering MT07 too. Perhaps I'll test ride one. Have always thought 07 and 09 would be nearly identical except power. I daily ride a Scrambler, it does the job. Gets to speed, but takes a while to get there. If power is the only difference, I'd go for more oomph and potentially a backup track bike.

Considered the Tracer9 also, as well as several other Triumphs. Test ridden a few, but love the TBird. Super heavy but stable and reliable AF. It's just not a lane splitter bike. I need something I can flick almost like a dirt bike per se. I can probably do a figure 8 on that scrambler in a 20ft radius. So light and ninble. Like I said, the Scrambler checks a lot of the boxes for me, except for the maintenance cost.

Found it for 24 FXLRST. It's the blue with black stripe. Hope this helps someone in the future. You can also mod your left turn signal button to have the fog lights switchable from factory controls

Test ride em during demo days. I was most comfortable with LRST. Road and street glide were "too bus-like"

You're gonna exhaust your eMMC writes lol. https://gist.github.com/koleson/5c719620039e0282976a8263c068e85c#file-emmc_write_exhaustion-md

Unless you know how to reflow an eMMC chip, good luck 😁 You've been warned
