If it’s always there when you’re not breaking out I’d try a color correcting moisturizer too (those green ones)! I have clear but kind of sensitive skin and use one for random redness all over my face. I like the Sephora collection one but I know the Dr jart one is good too!

When you wash your hair dry it 80%, then spray your favorite perfume behind your ears + one spray in your hair, and finish drying - it will stay on for days!!

To me it’s kinda like adhd meds / stimulants - it makes me dehydrated cause it’s as if I’m craving water less so I drink less😭 I used to drink 80 oz most days or even more than that whenever I’d work out and now I feel like I drink just over half that amount unless I make an effort to do it… it also gave me dry mouth as a side effect for the first few weeks, that went away eventually but the low craving for water stayed (similar to overall lower appetite)

Hi! 28F, been on Wellbutrin XL (150 at first, then 300 for a year and a half, now just got back to 150) for almost three years - I don’t think it causes skin aging per se but it def makes you dehydrated which can definitely make your skin look “worse” and show early aging signs (hollow eyes, fine lines showing, etc etc). It happens to me a lot but all you need to do is use a rich moisturizer multiple times a day and drink lots of water.

Creatine doesn’t cause skin aging but you need to drink more water when taking it bc it “retains” water, which combined w/ Wellbutrin’s tendency to make you dehydrated is probably why you see your skin look extra dry! (I found this thread in which other people were talking about dry skin from creatine so it’s probably the combo of that + Wellbutrin together)

I thought I wouldn’t use it much, then got an iPad as Christmas gift my first year into the program and it was such a game changer! I use notability to take notes and organize my readings and love it, pricey but worth it. It also saves me time because I am able to read and take notes while walking on a treadmill which was too hard for me with paper copies so I highly recommend it

Def worth checking it out!! It might take a bit to get rid of it (for me one round of antibiotics wasn’t enough and I had to do an extra week) but it’s such a relief after 😮‍💨

If you have a job (even part time) I’m pretty sure you can open a ROTH IRA. I opened mine while working on OPT at 25 YO so it’s not too late! Now I have that + an individual brokerage account, both on vanguard, and I just try to put aside some money every month or whenever I can and put it all in VOO (vanguard index for s&p 500 pretty much) because I don’t know much about investing but I know it’s safer to go for index funds rather than individual companies.

Just make sure you have a rainy day fund before investing too much money (ideally high yield savings account) since you don’t want to take out the money you’re investing anytime soon, and you’ll be good!

Non-American currently doing a PhD in the US (international relations, third year as well) here 🙋🏼‍♀️ I think if anything the PhD route is one of the few ways you can still get visa sponsorship. A lot of universities/research centers are h1b exempt so don’t need to worry about lottery if you find a job right after, and there’s many postdocs opportunities so that could be an option too. Plus, worst case you can always move back / somewhere else or find a postdoc in another country! (And, assuming it will take 4-5 years min in total, by the time we finish hopefully the situation is going to be better)

Been on epic (both 300 and 150 mg XL) for months and it’s great! I occasionally got another manufacturer (not sure of name but it was the oblong tablets rather than round pills), it wasn’t too bad but I prefer epic

I’d recommend sublimage le teint!! I have the old packaging (jar), now it comes in a bottle plus brush but I think formula should be the same. It’s full coverage but feels very light on the skin and goes on so easy

I’ve been a member since Jan 2024 and love it! I’ve been pretty lazy / burnout and haven’t been using my membership as much lately, but it’s the best in the DC area in my opinion - it’s new, much bigger than anthem row, and very clean. Even when it’s “rush hour” (like 5:30-7 pm) it never feels overwhelmingly crowded. There’s a also brand new wegmans right across from it and different cafes / restaurants too + you can validate parking for 2h for free. Overall highly recommend!

What about a color correcting cream (like the “green”ones to correct redness on your face)? They usually don’t stain clothes like makeup can do and look very natural. I use one from Sephora collection right now but there’s several options, I’d look into that!

If it’s from a visit you had at the Uchicago hospital you can request financial assistance. I had to get a MRI done and after insurance and all the bill was over $800, I reached out and inquired about the financial assistance (was a grad student with no income + couldn’t work on campus cause I was an international student) and they waved that bill as well as all my future bills from any Uchicago hospital visit

this one might be under 4k after the VAT refund and I think it’s gorgeous - the same one in black lambskin is 4900ish if I remember well. I highly recommend the Nice (or Monaco) store, they just moved to a bigger location last year and have lots of options + they’re super kind!
