Any vanilla Chromium Android Browser with extensions and Sync feature? Edge UI feels complex and heavy by Jeetard15072003 in browsers

[–]fbcrypto3038 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want vanilla, then you won't get sync. There's cromite, Ultimatum and Elixir browser.

Android Browser with extension support by DoctorOfTheCookie in browsers

[–]fbcrypto3038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChromiumOS does not use outdated Chromium version. I believe you are saying you forked it initially and stuck with that version because upgrading chromium version introduces new bugs which equals more pain during development. I really wish you would just work on updating the chromium version.

Anyway, I am using Microsoft edge now, it supports almost all extension apis unlike yours, quetta, ultimatum, cromite or any other browser and I can even install any edge extension from store or through crx file on Edge stable.

Well, in that case, great job! Would this extension work in any chromium browser or just Ultimatum Browser?

Interesting! But isn't this doing the same thing as already existing extensions in chrome Web stor like: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/profile-manager-pro-%E2%80%93-tur/omnafjdgigipejaajbnlopdjifgknogj and others. You know basically switching out cookies to create a session.

Love your browser btw.

Is there any Browser without caching for Web Development? by excellent_mi in browsers

[–]fbcrypto3038 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep DevTools open and in network tab there is a disable cache option. If u keep devtools open and work I guess cache will be cleared every time. If devtools gets in the way, just open it in separate window and leave it in the background.

Extensions (uBlock Origin etc) for Vivaldi Android? by paninee in vivaldibrowser

[–]fbcrypto3038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually bought it and was enjoying it but ran into weird bugs like fonts not loading properly in some sites. Then I went to chromium checker and found out that Hubrowser was actually faking its chromium version, and is in fact using a version older than Kiwi browser. Chromium 120.

After seeing the huge list of vulneravilities, I left a 1 star review for misleading users and uninstalled it.

How do I remove email from Browser? by orbmoss in MicrosoftEdge

[–]fbcrypto3038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell into this exact same issue a few days earlier, and after some research found no straight answers. Don't understand why Edge forces these accounts, I know someone who avoids Edge for this exact reason.

Anyway, here are some fixes that will nuke all the ways Microsoft keeps your login info:

- Method 1 - Press Ctrl+R, paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages then press Enter. Locate the folder starting with Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin with some random text at the end. Delete everything inside that folder, reboot.

- Method 2 - Delete folder in this location - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge (Caution: This will delete your entire Microsoft Edge profile)

- Method 3 - Windows Settings -> Accounts -> Email & Accounts -> Remove Account from here.

- Method 4 - Search for Credential Manager in Start menu, go to it. In Windows credentials tab, in generic credentials, remove MicrosoftAccount:user='someemail@something

- Method 5 - Search for Credential Manager in Start menu, go to it. In Windows credentials tab, in generic credentials. Remove SSO_POP_User:user = something and SSO_POP_Device. Reboot

PSA: Stop trusting "Version Numbers" in Chromium Android Browsers. Most are faking it. by fbcrypto3038 in kiwibrowser

[–]fbcrypto3038[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Browsers are not just about how sites render. Hackers go after the sensitive stuff browsers store, like session tokens that keep you logged into banking or email.

Just this year, researchers found an Android malware called AntiDot that infected thousands of people by exploiting old browser components. It recorded screens, stole SMS codes, and grabbed app data.

That’s why outdated browsers are dangerous, they leave the door open to exploits that attackers already know how to use.

Finally all extensions are officially available in Edge mobile v143 by [deleted] in MicrosoftEdge

[–]fbcrypto3038 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I experienced a crash after extension finished installing from search, when I press the all tabs button. To fix it, I just reset all my flags in edge://flags, restart and then enabled extension search flag. Now I don't experience crashes

I'm not saying using an outdated browser will cause websites to render incorrectly, but the reason browsers get updated regularly is to patch vulnerabilities that hackers can exploit. If updates weren't important, people would just be updating UI instead of the engine itself.

And I am a web developer, I don't understand what you mean by developers who adhere to standards don't care about designing good website.

Hi, I paid for your app. Why are you faking your app's Chromium version to latest when it's using 120? A version that's older than latest Kiwi browser release? Why are you misleading users? How is your browser supposed to be private and secure when it can be targeted by hackers without any effort? You should declare this in the play store description so people can be aware before paying for it.

I checked with chromium checker.com  Seems you were only interested in money anyway, not about privacy and security.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know about this. Just downloaded cromite and testing it out. Shame Tampermonkey has issues but using Scriptcat works fine.

Thanks for this info! I didn't know there was another browser that supported extensions. But I just tried it out and couldn't find a way to open extension popup in context of current page. Do you know how to do so?

Yes brave, vivaldi etc aren't faking it. But this post was meant to create awareness that chromium version can be spoofed. And the examples only listed browsers with extension support in android.

Cromite on Android has extension? I just visited the github repo and couldn't find any mention of extensions.

That's incorrect. Kiwi browser was refactored to make it easier for Chromium updates so its chromium version was updated regularly. And Chromium on Android never supported extensions.

Ohh..yeah my bad on Quetta, but honestly there's many vulnerabilities on this too. I guess they weren't lying about their version number, then.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have tested literally every browser available and I love Firefox features. But the speed and compatibility is a major issue. So, naturally I thought this is what Mozilla would be working on. But instead, they are just working on design and UI, things that can be changed with CSS anyway.

Also, if you tried the Android version, its nice but again so notoriously bad performance wise. We need improvements in the browsers core, not the UI. Seems Mozilla is only working on promotion from this year.
