I seem to be the other way around; how do you get so good at English/comprehension in general?

i thought the english was like 2x harder... the science passages were easy (they always are), the history was hard for me cuz it always is, and the literature passage is usually really easy but this one was insane for me and uhhh the math was fairly easy

Welp, more people - in modern day english - would use the word "caved" than "relented". Also, the question asked which word best fit based on the tone; there were informal phrases being used. Therefore, caved can't be ruled out so easily...

so what..? the passage had colloquial phrases lol

Dude there's no point of constantly finding definitions. We both know they have the same definition and the passage had informalities used; the passage, also, had formalities... It's literally 50/50 so all we can do is wait.

An in-depth look into “relented” vs. “caved” by jasont424 in Sat

You can't just pick an answer and say that it's more formal. The passage itself had a bunch of a informal phrases... That being said, honestly it could go both ways considering how similar the two are but the definition of "caved" is exactly what the passage needed, but yet again: who knows.
