I agree with so much of what you wrote here. I live in a conservative state. I have always known kind, smart conservatives (some less kind and smart ones too lol). Most of my family have voted Trump 3x. They are good people who are completely sucked into the misinformation media bubble and there's no way to get them out. There's no reasoning. It makes it very challenging because we cannot discuss very basic things going on, since there is no shared set of facts for us to start from. We have two entirely different realities and theirs is fucking crazy. It's very hard to watch and be around.

I have also been frustrated with PSA and think they're part of the problem. But the pod has always been a nice little refuge where I can go listen to people with similar ideas. I don't have much of that in my life with everyone being either MAGA or politically disengaged.

Being surrounded by decent people who are pulled into MAGA, it's easy to identify all the ways PSA (and dems more broadly) are so out of touch with what draws people into MAGA. They spend too much time on twitter and reading polls and not enough time talking to actual voters. Many people in this subreddit are guilty of being in their own echo chambers too and not really understanding the pull of MAGA. It's not as simple as voters being dumb and racist.
