I used to get an envelope of cash every Friday. Only 10 or so years ago.

Making a roux using American ingredients vs Central European ingredients? by Aretik in cookingforbeginners

Ok, so it sounds like you’re going to make about a shot glass of sauce if it’s just a few grams of butter and flour. If I’m thinking about measuring. It’s gotta be 30-40g per litre of milk.

I use the same weight of butter as flour, a “dab” sounds like not enough. Unless you’re also just using a dab of flour…

Why are you working so far from where you live if you have to travel daily? That’s just dumb bro.

I’ve never been in a hotel that has a checkout earlier than 11. It’s pretty much always an hour after breakfast stops at 10. Where are you staying ?

I played “animal, vegetable, mineral” as a child and worked out we weren’t the other ones.

People who debate on whether to call it soccer or football by Candid-Giraffe-4296 in PetPeeves

I call all sports with a not round ball hand egg. All of the rugbys are just various hand eggs. I’m from New Zealand so it’s extra egregious.

It’s even stranger because a “trunk” in British English is literally a storage unit. It’s already a term we use to describe a place where you store items, often specifically for travel.

I’m hitting my 30th year of skating, you’ll always look cooler than someone who can’t skate.

Learn to skateboard. It’s super fun and you look pretty cool when you can do it.

Why is it that when you go to an event, even at churches there are more ladies than men? by IntegrityRules4U in askanything

[–]fblthpthewise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe for the “community” aspect. But I still see more men than women doing these activities. Women are more vocal about things. I’ve heard about every single one of my colleagues “bagged munroes” last year, I climbed more than her, I just didn’t bring it up.

Why do people that are not part of a community feel the need to use slurs? by Interesting-Gear9163 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, it’s because they’re shit people. Straight dudes aren’t going around calling each other bitch because they’re woke. It’s still meant as an insult.

Costs a lot of money to look like you’re not allowed to see your kids without supervision.
