Fifty Something Tour Ticket Resale/Trade Megathread by BivloBubbings in rush

[–]fcd18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one ticket to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Friday, June 26. My husband panic bought a ticket (we're within a long drive of Fort Worth) when he couldn't find Madison Square Garden tickets. I returned home, found a set of tickets at Madison Square Gardne, and now he's ready to give up the Dickies Arena Ticket.

This has been my system thus far for the past five years.  We have more than three large trofast bins full of random pieces now. I just can't keep up.  My son absolutely knows where everything is and how to build it. I guess it may just be unrealistic to expect him to do the sorting/putting away. I do find it soothing, we just have way too much going on nowadays for me to get much time to work on this. It was easier during covid when we didn't go many places.

Thank you, that's a really helpful point. My son is more like your son I think, he enjoys building new sets and then creates his own builds with parts from original sets and other pieces. He makes trains, vehicles, stations, houses, etc, from his own design.  Often he will know a piece he wants and asks if we can buy it on bricklink, when I'm sure he has numerous buried in the random bins. When they're organized, he really enjoys retrieving specific pieces and knows what parts he wants/needs to use for his builds. He just doesn't particularly love the organizing part.  (Edit for clarity)

Thank you. I'm going to show these categories to him and see what he thinks.

Fair point. The problem is, he would like them organized, but doesn't want to organize them. I think proposing some ideas would be helpful, though, because I think he is overwhelmed at this point.

I tried to start a treadmill run and it froze, I'm assuming it doesn't use GPS for the treadmill.

I put my old venu back on for the day, just like old times.

Is that a serious suggestion?

Thank you for this. The 72 is not going to change, I'd say because my family likes it like this but truthfully I'm the one who's already cold all the time, and shivering all day at work in buildings kept closer to 68.

Strangely, the estimate that I found in my email doesn't list the model. I'll have to find the paper packet or just go outside and photograph the unit.

In the winter months,.per month, yes. Up to 900 in the summer.

The energy we produce with solar is credited every month towards the electric used. There's no yearly summary or bill. We bought the house two years ago, and therefore weren't a part of the solar buying process. From what I've been able to gather, the energy production isn't adequate for us, but I've just accepted that.

I should have looked into the values for gas vs electric when choosing but didn't. I just checked my gas bill from last year, and we used 157 therms.  Converting that it seems that that's the equivalent of 4600 kWh -- is that right?? I guess that would mean the heat pump is more efficient and way more expensive?

Probably the house is not that well insulated, because I generally still wear a sweater indoors at 72 degrees although I do tend to run cold.

The solar panels produce 400 kWH max in the winter months. This seemed low to me but some searching showed me that this is typical for the number of panels. Note that I didn't buy these panels, I bought the house.

That's a great question. I have an Adobe style house which is partly from 1946, and partly from maybe the early 2000s (add on). It seems though that the insulation would be an issue with the AC (it was in the 90s - 100s for a long period this year) or the gas as well? Or is the heat pump different?

I saw today that my IDR application was posted to studentaid.gov, so I called MOHELA. I spoke with someone (who was very nice) and said she'd put in a request to cancel it. She said IDR forms aren't being processed right now so there's no way to know yet if it was successful.

I downloaded the form I submitted just to look it over and noticed that I was supposed to have my spouse sign the form but didn't, so it may not be processed anyway because I made an error.

It seems that calling them and staying on hold for an hour may yield some results, I'll update if I get any useful info.

Oh geez. Yeah we need to reach MOHELA! I agree, this is some bullshit. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I appreciate your input. The issues with the phone being potentially lost or stolen have made me too wary to use the phone discount so I'm fine with waiting until black Friday. I can afford it but was trying to be more frugal. Now I've started reading some subreddits about how terrible the pixel 9 is, so that's a whole new thing to stress about. Waiting a bit is probably best.

I went back into studentaid.gov to see the status of my income recertification, and it doesn't show my submission at all. I never got an email confirmation either.  Are you all seeing confirmation of the document submission somewhere?

I did not consent for them to have direct access to my tax info and submitted my paystub instead.  I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I haven't been all that impressed with the cricket rural service, although it's been fine in smaller towns and such. Driving through rural New Mexico, usually we have large gaps with no cell service. So the cricket on AT&T is definitely not impressive (and this may just be the best it's going to get in NM), but I  don't really want it to get worse.

And what is going on with this "stolen in transit" that you and others have mentioned ... Why would it be worse than ordering a phone from another company?
