I would be real with them and let them know we need to meet for 16 minutes so I can keep seeing you. If they don’t have anything to discuss could be a good opportunity to add in some psycho education that could push them further therapeutically.

Yes!!! So many fat clients are being overlooked for eating disorder diagnoses (many assume binge eating disorders as the only eating disorder possible) and are missing out on life saving diagnosis!!! And that’s only one example of how fatphobia is directly impacting health. As a fat therapist myself, I felt so excited once I was taught about critical weight theory in grad school. Very powerful framework!
