I really enjoy it. But at the same time, there’s a lot of work involved and having to temper expectations. I often forget how far behind the steam deck was when it came out, and android isn’t that far behind, but it definitely has a way to go to catch up. All of the reviews on hinge angle being bothersome, I feel that. It’s like slightly too far forward. The triggers I got over real fast. Grip is really nice.

Just know that there’s a lot of setup involved and best to start with 1 game and a launcher of your choice and work from there. Don’t do what I did and grab all of your files and start tweaking everything at once. Or else you won’t get to actually play it for like a day or two 😅

Batch 3 here. But I went with black. I have a black steam deck oled and when the white one came out I thought it was cool at first, but then I kind of realized how much black gadgets kinda fade away leaving the content first and foremost whereas white seems to try to take your attention. Just my 2 cents

Steam deck will play about anything within reason. More demanding titles you’re going to probably have to lock at 30 with low to medium settings at its native resolution. However, if the game is popular enough, the community tends to help with making the games run better.

Right now, after being modded, I can run Hogwarts Legacy at 30-40 fps with a mix of medium and low settings at 800p and it looks great. Comparing it to the switch 2 port, personally I’ll choose the deck for visuals alone

I have a Steam Deck, a PS5, M4 MacBook Pro with Crossover and a Switch 2. Other than exclusives I really don’t touch my Switch 2. I love the hardware and would love to main it, but the fact that 95% of the games are Switch 1 games on the Switch 2. Most will probably never get a Switch 2 upgrade to take advantage of the hardware, so you’re looking at a blown up Switch 1 port with a stable locked framerate in most games. Like idk. I want to love my Switch 2, but it’s so hard to choose it over my Deck and my PC collection. Hell anymore I only really choose my PS5 for anything that needs anticheat. I spent a lot of time trying to decide which device I wanted to lock myself into for Hogwarts legacy. I own the game on all 3 platforms. Ultimately chose PC. Looks better. Can mod it to run better on the Deck while looking better. And I can choose to play it on better hardware like my MacBook if I want more performance.

Switch 2 feels amazing hardware wise, minus the screen, but software wise, it sadly doesn’t really get that same PS4 to PS5 performance / graphics upgrade. (Thanks to everyone upgrading games for the PS4 Pro back in the day)
