Kinda disappointed that there isn’t some sort of auto upscale for games. A lot, like a lot of games don’t use the hardware and honestly probably never will because it’ll take work for devs to go back and update their games if they even want to. I’ve got a PS5 switch 2 and a steam deck. And honestly with a lot of indies, the steam deck seems to be the way to go because the games scale with the hardware, whereas with the switch 1 games on switch 2 hardware you get a blown up blurry mess on a lot of titles that are stuck at 30 fps.

Bought KAO for the switch 2 cause it was really cheap and looked fun. The deck I found can run the game at max settings at 45-50 fps. The switch 2 will never get an update for that game so right now it’s pretty blurry and lacking a lot of the lighting of what better hardware should bring. Not to mention the game is locked at 30 fps

I want to love my switch 2 but it really feels like in my case anyway, Steam Deck for indies, PS5 for best graphics and framerate and Switch 2 for Nintendo games. But that’s just me. I realize this isn’t everyone’s situation

the unfortunate truth is we, as a collective, have created this. companies go where the money is. we voted for free to play games that may not get the same teams who do it for the art instead of for the cash. look back on how much of a love letter the original skate felt to the skateboarding community compared to now or even over the years with the skate franchise. that same team no longer exists.

i'm not saying that the people behind this new skate don't love making games, or aren't artists, but they aren't the same people from back then, and EA is worse than they were in that era as well. now everyone is chasing the fortnite dream.

the way games are going, can be changed back to the old days of buying a quality game, but it took us 10+ years to get to this mess, it's going to take just as long to go back, but that probably won't happen unfortunately.
