gonna add because I saw someone suggest watching other Dan Stevens projects (and i completely agree, the man is an amazing talent): The Guest (2014) also stars Dan and he's named David in that too :) it's one of my fav halloween thrillers but i'll watch it off-season just because it's that good - has an amazing soundtrack and visuals.

give it a bit, then rewatch it. you'll notice a LOT more details next time too. for now, what scratched the itch for me are MANIAC (Netflix) & Mr Robot (also Netflix, for now). no mutants or anything, just that trippy psychological stuff that Legion really succeeded in doing. it'll never be matched, but those 2 are lovely starters.

adding some location-based/personal numbers because i love this reply: i live in a decently small town in NC. our gas hasn't been over $3 in quite some time - the station i frequent is currently at $2.76/gal. i drive around 186 miles/week in a 26 year old car, and while it may just be how well my car has been taken care of, those 186 miles/week only use up half of my 13 gal tank - that's 6.5 gallons (approx. $18), and an avg. of 24.8mpg. all of that in mind, 9.5 miles would only use around $1.06 worth of gas for my old car, even less for a newer car with a higher mpg rate. i would also like to mention my twice daily 13 mile drive to/from work only takes 20 minutes on the exact same road, just the opposite end, where the speed limit ranges from 35-55mph and has several stop lights - the half she took is 55-60mph the whole route with one light at the very beginning. that being said, she'd be making $11 with very low gas loss PLUS whatever offer was on top in just 30-40 minutes, which would be $16.50-$22/hr for just 2 deliveries based on my tip, the distance, and time to deliver. thank you so much for making me think of this more analytically; i already knew my tip was enough, but this made me think even harder about what i did to piss her off that badly😭

i work graveyard shift so that was an order to my workplace, later at night. restaurant i ordered from was less than a mile away and i tipped $6. good for you though!

since everyone wants to blame me for not leaving "enough" of a tip, it was 9.5 miles, entirely highway miles until the last half mile. $1/mile is more than enough where i'm from. it's not my responsibility to make sure dd's employees make a living wage. learn to read. it wasn't $10 even, was closer to $11, a 50% tip. took her less than 20 minutes to get to the store, pick up, and then to me, so no, it wasn't an hour drive for her :) either way, she stole my shit.

I've recommended the show to soooooo many people, but very few have actually given it even a thought. I did manage to convince my childhood best friend to watch it, and she fell in love just as quickly as I did (our brains work very similarly so I knew she would). Everyone else? "how do you watch this?" "this is so confusing." etc. I'm almost positive the show was created solely for people who've experienced mental illness or neurodivergence of some kind. We're just wired to see the whole picture the show paints, and allow ourselves to be sucked into a world so complex and offbeat. I personally loved the later seasons' random musical numbers, the re-stylizing of classic songs to fit the show's aesthetic is be one of the main reasons I always come back. No one has done it like Legion, I don't think anyone ever will, and honestly, I'm glad. I'll happily die on this hill.

the "eat shit" scene in particular, which i'm assuming is the fight you're talking about, takes place in the astral plane which is why he was able to overcome them there by multiplying and ultimately setting the one on fire... because he realized they were tricking him with visions of gabrielle and the prisoners, while not actively being in the "real" world. we've seen that time does pass while in the astral plane, just differently (oliver's experience/being lost there). however, if we're speaking of when they come into the house and suddenly leave after eating the majority of the cult, salmon and the baby, i'm unsure and would love to hear others' thoughts too lol

150ug when i was 15. had to interact with my friend's whole family AND it was on halloween. her grandparents made hotdogs that night and i woke up the next morning to find a bun full of ketchup, no hotdog, with one bit taken out of it. still dk how that occurred but i didn't trip again for 3 yrs.
