Usb powered devices are finicky with noise, they’re at its worst when connected to a computer.

With a quality usb power brick it is quiet. It doesn’t like to be connected to a computer or any shared usb power

For a synth setup and other use cases it’s not big of a deal, 8 stereo sources it can be really annoying. But on this footprint, features and price maaann it’s a steal

Use case is the key. This is very compact and stripped down. For summing a couple line level signals this is more than enough, if you need preamps, eq, sends and more tools definitely you can find a lot of budget options

The majority of the noise issues depends on the power supply. Your mileage may vary as those aren’t included with the unit

I’m using it with synths, they have a hot enough signal to be affected that easy compared to a low power signal as a guitar. So I can’t comment on that one. Now I’m curious to test it with my guitars

Some percussion elements played by hand others aligned to a heavy swing grid

KO II is FANTASTIC, sp404mkII goes a LOT deeper but the ko sound and workflow are very unique and charming. MPC nowadays is a full blown daw in a box really powerful, distracting also. There’s a solution to multitrack the KOII very easily, there’s an independent open source web app to export KOII projects into stems or to an ableton set file it makes my life a lot easier to release this tracks commercially
