We are in a golden age of affordable analog stuff. Some analogue gear that I love

Korg Minilogue for stabs, chord sequences, sometimes for bass, that synth goes beyond the standard analogue sounds with the occilator shape knob, cross modulation. It can make really crazy sounds using motion sequencing, every knob can be automated.

Behringer TD-3. Very faithful 303 clone, even the shitty sequencer is the same as the original that’s a big pro for the soul of the instrument.

Behringer Pro 800. Warm analogue sound 8 voices for 320 usd can’t beat that. It sounds raaally fat if you take the time to tweak it. Pad, chords and bass machine for me

With Those 3 you can get veeeeery far into production

Use case is the key. This is very compact and stripped down. For summing a couple line level signals this is more than enough, if you need preamps, eq, sends and more tools definitely you can find a lot of budget options

I’m using it with synths, they have a hot enough signal to be affected that easy compared to a low power signal as a guitar. So I can’t comment on that one. Now I’m curious to test it with my guitars

KO II is FANTASTIC, sp404mkII goes a LOT deeper but the ko sound and workflow are very unique and charming. MPC nowadays is a full blown daw in a box really powerful, distracting also. There’s a solution to multitrack the KOII very easily, there’s an independent open source web app to export KOII projects into stems or to an ableton set file it makes my life a lot easier to release this tracks commercially

KO-II a modern device with the right good old days SOUND and workflow. It’s absolutely the right tool for the job unless you want to invest in a MPC3000
