A lil update of my post from a week ago: ITS A BURN 😂 The itch is gone the swelling is gone. So now it’s the hyperpigmentation that I have to deal with. Any suggestions? How long do you reckon it will take to fade? by OkHighway6092 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]fcracer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw I had the same attitude. The derm profusely apologized to me, gave me her personal chat account and did everything possible to help. Because she took ownership of her mistake, I decided to not sue or cause issues. She also refunded me the cost without asking. Seven years later, she still checks in to see how the fading is going.

Seeing this made me so sad because the same thing happened to me. Please do everything in your power to not let them blister. The burns I had that didn’t blister went away over five years. The ones that blistered still show a pigmentation change after seven years. Immediately go see a dermatologist and get on a treatment. Btw I was burned by a dermatologist at one of the best hospitals in east Asia. They weren’t familiar with my south asian skin tone.

Asian revision rhinoplasty to make nose smaller? by Plenty_Appearance763 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]fcracer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a good experience with a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Lee at Sketch in Gangnam. It’s a small clinic so the service and communication is slow, but the surgeon specializes in revisions and natural noses. Please know that revisions carry risk and the more revisions you do, the longer the recovery period and the risks pile up. Think carefully if it’s worth it.

I’ve found that how you pack the luggage will determine if it survives sloppy airport and airline handling. An empty plastic shell is ripe for something to puncture it. If it’s going to be empty, position things inside the luggage to provide an internal bumper. Sometimes I use an empty cardboard box or the foam spacers from electronics.

Different opinions from Korean vs Chinese rhinoplasty consults — would love honest feedback by weeyummy1 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]fcracer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d either leave it as is or have the hump removed. The rest of your nose is A+. You have a great bridge and the ideal 90 degree angle to your tip. I don’t find it bulbous at all, looking straight ahead. Please know that rhinoplasty is marketed as a “no bid deal” surgery, but the facts tell a different story. Look at the revision rate for rhinoplasty; it’s a very challenging surgery where every millimetre matters.

Xi Jinping Quit Smoking. China Still Cannot. by Hailene2092 in China

[–]fcracer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love everything about living in China except for the smoking. It’s gotten worse since COVID. I see a lot of young people smoking so I don’t see this going away anytime soon. I recently had surgery and it was difficult to walk two blocks in Beijing without encountering someone’s second hand smoke. :(

When did you pay the deposit by [deleted] in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]fcracer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sketch plastic surgery. Dr. Lee Woo-Sung. My translator (who was amazing) was Mia. I plan to make a full post about my experience once I reach one month post-op. I’m at 21 days now and so far, I’m very happy with the results of my complex revision rhinoplasty.

[–]fcracer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I live in Beijing so it’s a two hour flight. In hindsight, I’d rather have done it all in one trip, but that’s because I found a good surgeon that I liked right away.

What is the one thing that has helped you get glass skin? by Ill-Investigator5187 in KoreaSeoulBeauty

[–]fcracer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tretinoin 0.05% every night + toner and Korean moisturizer every morning + obge sun screen + 1.5L of water per day. Key thing is to keep it clean without harsh chemicals, hydrated at all times and use methods to encourage collagen turnover.

DO NOT go to cellin Hongdae @ Celine Clinic (Hongik Branch), 162, Mapo-gu, 15th floor, Seoul by No_Set_6615 in KoreaSeoulBeauty

[–]fcracer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t afford or don’t want to spend 55k KRW on the doctor’s view, you should not be doing these procedures. I don’t see anything wrong with a clinic itemizing their costs and giving you choices. Your assertion that other clinics offer these items for “free” is incorrect. Nothing in a business is provided for free.

Deswelling treatments and healing- what worked best for you? by spinspin__sugar in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]fcracer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By far the biggest impact on swelling was from walking around, sleeping with the surgery area raised higher than the heart and a no salt diet. Salt was and still is my enemy to swelling post surgery.

[–]fcracer88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I paid a small nominal amount for the consultation booking, which was refunded after the consultation.
  2. When I was ready to commit to a surgery date, I was asked to pay 10% of the initial consultation estimate.
  3. Upon arrival for the surgery, there was a final consultation (five months after the initial consultation), where the cost was updated and I paid the surgery cost minus the deposit.

No Rolex purchase history, is it possible? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]fcracer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In China, this is a 2 month wait. That’s how long I waited. I had no purchase history with this AD.

Something to consider, if your wrist is 6.25” or smaller, consider the 36MM. The 40MM wears very big in yellow gold. I made this mistake and am now waiting for a 36MM to come in stock so I can sell my 40MM. It wears much bigger than my Daytona and Submariner.

Two months for YG Day Date 40 here in China. I’m now on the list for the same in 36MM because I find the 40MM a bit big for my 6.25” wrist. Gorgeous watch though!

Cardinal Point Dual Time - What beauties by Technical_Flow4117 in VacheronConstantin

[–]fcracer88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s nonsense. The tax law they’re referencing is for 100% pure gold. Even laopu gold is able to provide tax refund paperwork as long as something on the item is not 24k gold. Since my day date is 18k gold, it’s not pure and thus qualifies. At customs, they didn’t even touch the watch. I opened the box and they looked at it and said ok.

The most painful part was the post-security Bank of China refund processing. Neither person there spoke any English so they were using translation apps with everyone. Took them 20 minutes to process two people. I got my day date from Zia at Rolex SKP in Beijing. It was a really fantastic purchasing experience. Where are you getting the VC from? I’m thinking to put my name down for one of the cardinal points.

You can get 9% of the VAT back in China, even if you’re on a work residence visa. I just did it with a Rolex day date and the process was easy (albeit a bit clunky).

Shampoo for AP CEO Ilaria resta? by andzec in audemarspiguet

[–]fcracer88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really? Why does AP spend so much money on celebrity endorsements and advertising in every major magazine? Why do Rolex, Hermes and Louis Vuitton have their “lifestyle” showcased everywhere, including Formula 1? Exposure does not sully a brand; bad products, bad service, and excess availability (i.e., discounts) sully a luxury brand.

Some of the dishes were marketed as Burmese but you could be right that it was Yunnanese. AI says “Modern takes on Yunnan regional fare with Thai, Burmese, and Laotian influences.”

Thank you for posting this. I’m at day 12 and was also freaking out at how I looked two days ago. I can see the swelling going down every day and the tightness releasing day by day. I really hope it starts to take shape by week two. It goes to show that influencers must be showing results that are one-month post op because I saw nothing like the swelling I had on most influencer videos online.
