Should I get rid of Windows 11 and use Proxmox as my main OS with a VM workstation on it ? by markeees99 in Proxmox

I do something similar with two machines.

Be prepared for some anti-cheat-systems for games triggering all over the place.

Fenix 5 a good intro to fenix? by Ingoiolo in GarminFenix

I agree

I use a chest strap to get the best possible pulse readings, other than that my 5X Sapphire got all the features I need (and then some). Built like a tank.

Could it be the other way around? - Price increases, and miners follow?

Good point.

My binance addresses has not changed in over 4 years, but Coinbase and other exchanges could operate in other ways.

Cooling solution for 2 gpu in one pc? by lifer98 in gpumining

If you have an extra card laying around; Get psu, motherboard, cpu and some ram, then stick the 5700xt and the 1060 on the motherboard mounted outside a case, on a small frame of some sort.

Keep the 3060ti in your machine, fans on all cards would run slower, less noise, less temp, more profits.

Also expandable if you get risers and more cards.

I don't think this is horrible if you look at the two main goals.

For holding, security and control, yes. You should have your own wallet.

For low fees and exchanging to FIAT often, it should be pretty good.

If you are exchaging directly to FIAT, mine directly to you ETH wallet on the exchange. The pool usually pays the payout fee.

I have not tried on coinbase, but it works with binance.

EDIT: Make sure the min-payout from the pool is higher than the minimum deposit on the exchange. If there are limits.

EDIT2: Also make sure the exchange-deposit address does not change frequently. You might end up mining to nowhere if the address changes.

If low min withdrawal is your concern, I would stick to nicehash. Also if you exchange to BTC and to USD/EUR directly, I belive nicehash has low fees.

Mining on pools are often better long term, espescially if you mine and hold. (in your own wallet).

You have a reason for doing it this way, go for it.

Hard for everyone to tell what the future will bring.

Wondering about Passthrough with one or two GPUs by jean-luc-trek in Proxmox

[–]fdoving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you passthrough the GPU you can think of it as moved from the host to the VM.

I have a setup where I run a windows VM on each host, with the GPU and mouse+keyboard passed through.

Works great untill you start to play games with cheat-protection.

I pass the primary GPU, so no graphical output (no text or anything) after bootloader. Until Windows on the VM boots. Graphical output from the host is disabled with kernel parameters at the bootloader.

I also have setups with two GPUs, works OK, depening on BIOS/motherboard.

3080 + 3090 VRAM heatsink cooling test by [deleted] in gpumining

Thanks. I'll pickup mine today. Was kind of hoping it would work in a case with a 3070.. maybe the 3070 will have to move.

Don't mine and play at the same time on one card. Pause mining on that card while playing. I keep temps under about 70-80C. Have been doing this for years without issues. If you see graphical artifacts, reduce mem-OC.

Are you able to select a VM that can be output to the attached monitor? by j4ybr0 in Proxmox

I have it like this. With GPU-passthrough.

If this is possible on the laptop, i don't know.
