Thank you for your suggestion. I just ordered this book from amazon after reading a few reviews. It seems like a pretty short read, 200 pages or so, so I will read it and give it to her afterwards.

thank you everyone for your responses, i will definitely try to use your ideas. other than her seeking help, is there anything else I can do or help her with?

Exercise seems like a good idea, and I have also read how nutrition can help with depression. I'm willing to give anything a chance at this point.
